OFFICE OF

DUNLOP & MCCANCE'S MILLS,

1213 East Cary Street,

RICHMOND, VA., MAY 1, 1881.

The demand experienced for our FLOUR, which at times could not be fully met, recently indneed us to in- crease largely our facilities for SUPPLYING THE HOME TRADE. We therefore bike this occasion of calling the attention of those who have not tried our brands to the substance of what has heretofore been said upon the subject.

The fake economy which some years since induced grocers and their customers to buy cheap four resulted in so much trouble that many deniers only handle the article as a matter of necessity, and with no view to sat- isfaction or profit from the business.

Consumers can, however, he influenced by considera- tions of health and convenience to use a better and consequently more expensive grade of flour, for when they realize that the cost of one dollar or more per bar- rel amounts in their daily consumption of three or four pounds to a difference of one and a half or two cents, they will hardly regard the additional expenditure an extravagance. To few people purchasing flour by the barrel does it occur that this important article of human food used at every meal, costs less per day than any other on their bill of fare.

We believe it is ir the power of dealers to impress these mine thereby raving them wives and their patzone the His- pintar tico which inevitably attends the handling of brands doubtful or variable in quality.

Holding such views, our fixed policy is to keep the FLOUR represented by our brands to a high standard. The " DUNLOP PATENT FAMILY" and "OLD DO. MINION PATENT FAMILY" meet a want long felt for four having both color and strength.

Their whitener cannot fail to please the most fastidi" onstate while their glutinous properties insure a light and nutritions bread.

The advaner in the art of milling, by which Patent Flour is made, though last established in the South, is here much needed-by housekeepers, to make up for culinary shortcomings; by bakers to give strength and quality to the variable and inferior grades, which can be only used to advantage by mixing with NEW PRO ESS FLOUE.

OF OUR "PIONEER NEW PROCESS FAMILY" AND ' MeCANCE'S NEW PROCESS TRIPLE-EXTRA "

seron cut lenny as they are unsurpassed by any other brands to be had for the same price, and will certainly Rive entire sprisfueron to those who do not fancy paying the agares which Patent Flour must command to induce 's mans ture.

RICHMOND, VA., MAY 1, 1881.

The demand experienced for our FLOUR, which at times could not be fully met, recently induced us to in- crease largely our facilities for SUPPLYING THE HOME TRADE. We therefore take this occasion of calling the attention of those who have not tried our brands to the substance of what has heretofore been said upon the subject.

The false economy which some years since induced grocers and their customers to buy cheap flour resulted in so much trouble that many dealers only handle the article as a matter of necessity, and with no view to sat- isfaction or profit from the business.

Consumers can, however, be influenced by considera- tions of health and convenience to use a better and consequently more expensive grade of flour, for when they realize that the cost of one dollar or more per bar- rel amounts in their daily consumption of three or four pounds to a difference of one and a half or two cents, they will hardly regard the additional expenditure an extravagance. To few people purchasing flour by the barrel does it occur that this important article of human food used at every meal, costs less per day than any other on their bill of fare.

We believe it is in the power of dealers to impress these truths, thereby saving themselves and their patrons the dissatisfaction which inevitably attends the handling of brands doubtful or variable in quality.
