Church Institute and Pinel Hospital. During the preceding twelve months 156 patients were treated at the Church Institute, of whom 108 were white males, 26 white fernales, 22 colored

males, and S colored females; 28 surgical operations were performed, 112 patients were discharged enred, 22 are under treatment, 9 deaths from all canses. 7 patients mich relieved. For the last three months the Church Institute has been closed, the former superintendent having taken charge of the Pinel Hospital, a new hospital designed especially for the treatment of inebriates and mental diseases.
