SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT.
To the School Directors and Citizens of Thetford:
In accordance with our state law, I herewith submit my annual report as Superintendent of Schools, this report embracing the period from July 1, 1918 to July 1, 1919. Eleven schools have been maintained for 34 weeks each. The attendance for the spring term being as fol- lows: North Thetford, 16; East Thetford, 16; Stevens, 22; Hill, 10; Center, 24; Post Mills, 20; Potato Hill, 11; Swanee Bean, 9; Union Village, 16; Rice's Mill, 20; Judd, 11. Total, 175.
The aggregate total day's attendance was 25,312.5 which was 91.15 per cent of what it might have been had there been no absences. The school in the Judd District ranked highest in attendance, having a percentage of 97.3 the others following in the order named: North Thetford, 95.6; Stevens, 94.9; Center, 94.1; East Thetford, 93.3; Post Mills, 93.2; Rice's Mills, 92.8; Hill, 89.9; Swanee Bean, 86.8; Union Village, 86.7; Potato Hill, 83.6.
My predecessor, Supt. McKnight, visited your schools eight times before leaving for his new field, and I have made ninety-four visits since I came, making a total of one hundred and two visits made your schools by the superintendent.
32
The following pupils have attended the full year without an absent mark: Bernard G. Ilsley, Judd; Dorothy McClary, Center; Charles W. Bacon, Stevens; Phyllis Wheelock and Hattie Wilkie, East Thetford, Raymond Bragg, North Thetford.
