Curtis Judson is the oldest hotel keeper in the United States. Of the 17 Institutions, with their 800 odd Directors, Trustees and Officers, there remain only 6 Banks, 3 Fire Insurance Companies, and 7 corporations. Only 1 Business Firm is in active operation to-day, the same as 61 years ago, viz .:- N. H. Chamberlin, truckman. Only 16 of all the firms in Hartford to-day are direct successors to the business houses of 60 years ago. Of the City Government only Abner Church and James Bolter are still with us. This list 11 years ago bad 70 more names in it.
