1783. Catherine Clowes within mentioned, now the widow of John Young has but one child living (viz) John Young born 28 July 1772.
Mary Clowes within mentioned, now the wife of John K. Dorman, has living four children (viz) 3 boys and 1 girl. Ger- hardus Dorman born 23d of Aug. 1772, Nehemiah born 31 July, 1774, Elizabeth Dorman born 29 July 1776, John Dorman born 22d May 1779.
Meirs Clarke was married to Aletta Clowes in the year 1785. Meirs Clarke was born the 2 of May in the year 1761. Mary Clarke daughter of Miers & Aletta Clarke was born August 28 about 3 Oclock in the afternoon, on Sunday in the year 1786; was Baptized by the Rev. Sydenham Thorne. Miers Clarke departed this life December 17, 1810.
1792, May 9, Wednesday about 9 oClock was born Sarah, daughter of Miers Clarke and Aletta, his wife.
Sept. 7, 1758, John Clowes, Jr., was married to Mary Draper by the Rev. Matthias Harris at John Spencer's Esq., about 1 in the afternoon. Mary Draper, daughter of Isaac & Sarah Draper, was born the 10th day of November, 1739.
On frayday the 17th day of Aug. anno Domi. 1759 Be- tween the Hours of 12 & 1 in the morning was born Sarah Clowes Daughter to John & Mary Clowes and was Baptized Munday Privately by the Reverend Matthias Harris. On thursday the 1st day of July 1761 about 2 Oclock in the afternoon she was Siezed with a choaking fitt which ended with her life in about 9 or 10 hours afterwards and she was buried at John Havelaves on Saturday following.
1808, May 12th, at 4 Oclock in the afternoon, James Walker was married to Mary Clarke by Revd. Mr. William Hickman.

1809, Aug. 16, on Monday, was born James Miers Walker, son of James & Mary Walker. He died March 10, aged 27 years, 4 months, 8 days.
1815, Joanna Truitt March 17, on Friday, Daughter to John and Sarah Truit.
Sarah Pinner daughter of Miers Clarke and Aletta his wife died in North Carolina Jan. 3, 1871.
1733, September 16th, at 5 in the morning, their third son David Clowes was born at Lewes and Christened there by Mr. Beckett 28 April, 1734. His sponsors were Mr. Ryves Clowes & Mrs. Comfort Clowes.
1736, July 9th, at 9 in the morning, Catharine Clowes, second daughter of John & Mary Clowes, was born at Lewes aforesaid & there Christened by the aforesaid Revd Wm Beckett on the 5th of Sept. following. Her sponsors were Mr. Daniel Nunez, Mrs. Mary Nunez & Mrs. Eliza Price.
1737, Dec. 31st; at 6 in the evening, their fourth son, Samuel Clowes, was born at Lewes & there Christened by Mr. Beckett on the 5th of March following. His sponsors were Mr. Simon Kollock, Mr. Edward Naws & Mrs. Comfort Kollock. He lived untill the 19th March, 1758, on which day being about 9 in the morning he Dyed much regretted by his friends. He was buried at Broad Kill in the burying ground of his Mother's relations there.
On Monday the 22d of March, 1762, between one and two in the afternoon was born Samuel Clowes, son to John and Mary Clowes, and Baptized on Saturday, the second of Oc- tober, following, by the Rev. Matthias Harris at Pilot Town.
On Sunday, the 7th of October, 1764, at 2 Oclock in the afternoon, was born John Clowes, son to John & Mary Clowes, and was Baptized on Sunday the 29th of September, 1765, at St. Georges Chappel by the Rev. Matthias Harris, and on Sunday the 21st of September, 1766, departed this life at half after four in the afternoon with a flux of four days' continuance.
1767, on Thursday, the 7th of Aprill, at half after nine in the morning, was born Aletta Clowes, Daughter to John & Mary Clowes, and was Baptized on Wednesday, the 13 of May, at home by the Rev. Matthias Harris.

1769, On Monday, the 12th of June, at half after eight in the morning, was born Sarah Clowes, Daughter to John & Mary Clowes, and on Monday, the 18 of Sept., following, was Baptized by Rev. John Andrews.
1771, on Tuesday, the 16 day of July, at eight in the morn- ing, was born John Clowes, son to John & Mary Clowes, and on Monday, the 5 of August, following, was Baptized by the Rev. John Lyons; and the next day at 12 after one in the afternoon it pleased God to take his soul, and on the 7th inst. his body was intered in the Vault at John Heavcloe's.
1780, Nov. 21, their first son, Samuel, was lost in Delaware Bay in a violent storm, wind S. E., together with all the others and the vessel. Heard on the 3d of June following that he was buried on Murder Kill Beach, and on diging down to the body believe it to be the remains.
1772, On Thursday, the 20th of Aug., at 12 after three in the afternoon was born Isaac Clowes, son to John & Mary Clowes, and was Baptized by the Rev. John Lyon the 28 of Nov. following.
1775, Thursday, 2d day of February, at Twelve Oclock was born Peter Clowes, son to John & Mary Clowes, & on the 29th of May following was Baptized by the Rev. Mr. Samuel Tingle at our own house. He died with a bilious fever leaving one son Ezekiel Williams Clowes.
1777, Friday, Sept. 7, at 1 Oclock in the morning, was born John Clowes, son to John & Mary Clowes, & was Bap- tized by the Rev. Samuel Tinley on Saturday, May 28, 1778, at our own home. The reason why he was so long unbaptized was the times. Toryism prevailed & it was dangerous to go to church & the Parson seldom called on us.
1780, Friday, May 19, at 11 Oclock in the morning, was born Mary Clowes, Daughter to John & Mary Clowes, and was Baptized by the Rev. Samuel Tinley on Saturday, the 26 of August, at our own house, myself from home. July 17, 1781, she was taken with a purgeing which continued till the 3d of September when she gave up the Gost. On the 4th her remains was buried in the Vault.
1784, January 27, Our third son, John, left this life of trial & probation of a malignant quencey or the putrid ulcerous sore throat, of only three days continuance. On the 29th we laid his remains in the Vault, in extreme cold.
1789, December 9, their 2d Daughter, Sarah, wife to John Clarke, died the 4th day of her sickness, on Wednesday,

Anno Domini, 1727, August 25th, at 5 afternoon, John Clowes was married unto Mary his wife at Lewes Town, in the County of Sussex on Delaware, by the Rev. William Beckett, Missionary from the Society for Propagating the Gospel.
1728, June 28th, at 4 in the morning William Clowes, eldest son of them, the said John & Mary, was born at Broad Kill, in the aforesaid County of Sussex, and was christened by the abovesaid Missionary Beckett, privately at Lewes Town, on the 28th Aug. following. Said Wm. Beckett, Jona- than Bayley, Jr, & Mrs Becket his sponsors.
1730, November 5th, at 11 in the morning John Clowes, their second son, was born at Lewes Town, and there christ- ened by the said Mr. Beckett the 11th December following. His sponsors were Mr. Ryves Holt, Mr. John Welbor & Mrs. Holt.
1732, August 28th, at 1 in the morning their first daughter, Alletta Clowes, was born at Lewes Town, & on the 5th Sep- tember following she was Christened by Sd Mr. Beckett privately (being very ill) & on the 6th inst. at 8 in the morning she Dyed & was buried in the Church yard at Lewes.
1739-40, February the 7th, at 5 in the morning, their third Daughter, Mary Clowes, was born at Lewes & there Christened by Mr. Beckett, on the 27th of April following. Her sponsors were Mr. Cornelius Wiltbank Mrs. Margaret Kollock, & Mrs. Hester Philips.
1742, May 19th, at 7 in the morning, their fourth Daughter, Lidia Clowes, was born at Lewes, & there Christened by Mr. Beckett on the first of August following. Her Sponsors were Mr. Ryves Holt, Mrs. Catherine Holt & Mrs. Mary Nunez.
1747-8, March 12, at 10 in the morning, their fifth son, Gerhardus Clowes, was born at Parktown on the Broad Kill, in Sd County of Sussex, and was Christened by .the Rev.

1766, Oct. 26th, their eldest son, William, departed this life of a plurafie. He was Interred at Eliza Staytons at Broad Kill, where his former wife was buried.
1768, March 19, their son, Gerhardus, perished to Death in a Most Violent Storm of Snow on Apoquimini Creek, on Delaware River, being Drove in a Vessel there, & was there Desently Buried in an old burying ground Much lamented by his friends.
1766, Oct. 26, the foregoing William Clowes, died of a pluracy. He left 4 Children, Two by each Wife :- 1st, Cathe- rine, born -; 2d, Mary, born -; 3d, Lydia, born 15 Nov., 1762; 4th, John, born 18th March, 1765.
1770, June 18, John Clowes, the second son mentioned in the foregoing Catalogue of Births, got this old Bible new Bound at Philadelphia, and Proposeth to enter hereunder the famely Deaths till God shall call him hence.
1769, April 24th, at 12 oClock in the day, John Clowes, esq., father of the forementioned, departed this Life in the ninth day of a plurasie, aged sixty six years and nine days; the Corps was laid in an open grave the 27th inst. and on the 5th of June was Intered in a New Vault built since his death at Mr. Heavelo's Landing. Mr. Andrews preached his funeral.
1770, May 25, at 9 oClock in the morning, David Clowes departed this Life of a disorder that had raged on him near four years, and on the 27 inst was Intered in the aforesaid Vault. Mr. Lyons preached his funeral sermon. He left only one child, a daughter; she was born at Nanticoke, 22d day of April 1767, 1783, the 9th day, the above Hannah died of a quency at 12 last night and was intered in sd vault.
1781, Nov. 25, on Sunday, at 3 in the morning, Lydia Clowes, the wife of Lot Clark, departed this Life of a Nervers Fevor; and on the 27th her Remains was laid in the Vault. On the 4th of Dec. Mr. Tillney preached her funeral sermon. She Left six Children three by first, and three Girls by her Second Husband, viz., Shepherd Conwell, born 23d July, 1765; Gerhardus Conwell, born 12th Nov., 1767; John Con- well, born 29th January, 1770; Melicent Clark, born 24th Sept., 1776; Anna Clark, born 27th April, 1778; Charlotte Clark, born 12th Feb., 1780.

1790, Feb. 24th, at 5 oClock in the morning, on Wednesday, the above mentioned John Clowes, Esq., & Judge of the Court, Died the 9th day of his sicknefs, with a violent Plurasie & inflamtion of the lungs, Aged 59 years 3 months & 18 days, & was buried at the South Corner of the Vault. Mr. Willson Preached his funeral. He objected being laid in the Vault; left his beloved wife; & Mary Clowes died 6 of August, 1813. Only 3 children out of ten survived him.

1783. Catherine Clowes, within mentioned, now the widow of John Young has but one child living, viz .: John Young born 28th July, 1772.
Mary Clowes, within mentioned, now the wife of John K. Dorman, has living four children, viz. three boys and one girl.

Elizabeth Dorman, born 29th July, 1776;
John Dorman, born 22d May, 1779.
Miers Clarke was married to Aletta Clowes in the year 1785; Miers Clarke was born the 2d of May, in the year 1761.
Mary Clarke, daughter of Miers and Aletta Clarke, was born August 28th, about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, on Sun- day, in the year 1786, was baptized by the Rev. Sydenham Thorne.
Miers Clarke departed this life December 17, 1810.
1792. May 9th, Wednesday, about 9 in the morning, was born Sarah Clarke, daughter to Miers Clarke and his wife.
1794. September 10th, Wednesday, about 9 o'clock at night, was born Hannah Clarke, daughter to Miers Clarke and Aletta, his wife.
1798. October 24th, on tuesday, was born Elizabeth Clarke, about 11 in the morning, daughter of Miers Clarke and Aletta, his wife.
1800. July 18th, about 5 in the morning, on Friday, was born Lidia Clarke, daughter to Miers Clarke and Aletta, his wife.
1803. February the 1st, at 2 in the afternoon, was born, tuesday, Ester Clarke, daughter to Miers Clarke and Aletta his wife.
1805. february 6th, on Wednesday morning about 1 o'clock, was born Anna Clarke, daughter to Miers Clarke and Aletta, his wife.

1807. April 30th, between 12 in the morning, was born Aletta Clarke, daughter to Miers Clarke and Aletta, his wife.
Mary Clowes died the 6th of August, 1813, aged 73 years, 8 months, and 26 days.
September 7th, 1758. John Clowes, Jr., was married to Mary Draper by the Rev. Matthias Harris at John Spen- cer's, Esq., about 1 in the afternoon.
Mary Draper, daughter of Isaac and Sarah Draper, was born the tenth day of November, 1739.
On frayday, the seventeenth day of August, anno Domi. 1759, between the hours of 12 and 1 in the morning, was born Sarah Clowes, daughter to John and Mary Clowes, and was baptized Munday, privately by the Reverend Mat- thias Harris. On thursday the first day of July, 1761, about 2 o'clock in the afternoon, she was siezed with a choaking fitt which ended with her life in about 9 or 10 hours after- wards, and she was buried at John Havelaves on Saturday following.
