FIRST WARD.
The first ward shall embrace all of that portion of the city lying west of a line described as follows, to-wit: Beginning on the south line of the city in the center of section twenty-one, in range; twenty- four (24), running thence north through the center of said section twenty-one (21), and through section sixteen (16), and a part of nine (9) to the middle of the Rac- coon river; thence westward along the channel of said river to' a point directly south of the southern terminus of the middle of Nineteenth street; thence north to Grand ave; thence east on Grand ave- nue to Seventeenth street; thence north on Seventeenth street to the north line of section five (5) in township seven- ty-eight (78) range 24); thence west on the north line of said section to twentieth street; thence north on Twentieth street to the Des Moines river: thence along the middle of the said river to the north line of the city.
SECOND . WARD.
The second ward shall include all of the territory lying east of the first ward, west of a line beginning at a point in the middle of the Raccoon river where it is Intersected by a north and south line run- bing through the center of section nine (9); thence north through the center of said section 9 to Market street; thence west on Market street to Tenth street; thence north on Tenth street to . The Sixth ward shall be composed of all that portion of territory lying east of the east boundary lines of the fourth and fifth wards and west. of the following line, beginning in the center of section twenty-three (28), on' the south line of said city, range twenty four (24); thence .north through . the center of sections twenty-three (28), fourteen (11) and eleven (11) to the Des Moines river; thence up. the middle of the said river to a point op- posite and south of the southern terminus of Sixteenth street; thence north on Six- teenth street to Walker street; thence northeasterly on Walker street and Eas- ton Boulevard to the east line of section thirty-six (36); thence 'northward on the east lines of said section thirty-six (36), in range twenty-four (24), and of sections twenty-five (25) and twenty-four (24) to the north line of the city.
SEVENTH WARD.
The seventh ward shall comprise all that portion of the city lying east of the east line of the sixth ward as above fixed.
