Sold to Henry Ingalls junr: a quarter of an acre of land on ye east side of ye way against his house to be layd out by ye lott layers, he hav- ing paid 8 money for ye same by Mr: Andrew Peeters.

Sold to Joseph Osgood one acre of swamp land, lying on ye south side, att ye lower corner of Hooker Osgood's he leaveing out ye spring for a watering place he paying for the same according to ye usuall price, upon ye lay- ing of it out, weh land is to be layd out by Andrew ffoster, and Nathaniell Abbott


Whereas Nathaniell Abbott, by the approbation of ye selectmen, and for his owne convenience hath sett his house on ye townes land: have granted him libertie to exchange one acre of land layeing down one acre of his land on ye southwest side of Walter Wrights swamp & to take up one acre of land where his house stands: wch land shall be layd downe, and layd out by Andrew ffoster & Walter Wright.


Sold to Quartermaster James ffrie, a small parcell of land joyneing on ye east side of ye land which he bought of Ensign Joseph Ballard; contayne- ing about a quarter, or half an acre more or less, he not enterrupting of a sufficient highway to ye claypits from William Chandlers lott, he payeing for the same according to usuall price, wer land shall be layd out by Nathaniell Dane & John Ingalls.


Sold to Andrew ffoster a small corner of land about half an acre, on ye north- east corner of his house, joyneing to his other land, he payeing to usuall price.


Sold to Leiu' Benjamin Steevens, & Serjt. John Aslebee a small stripp of land adjoyneing to ye northwest end of their pasture next to the highway to ye meeting house, ? a about half a rodd wide, or more, where it will bear not prejudiceing ye highway, for ye conveniency of setting up their fence in timber (?) land, they payeing for it proportionably according to usuall price.


Sold to Serjnt Sam-1 Osgood a small gore, or cornr of land adjoyning on ye west end of his street pasture, between ye way y' goes downe to Cocherchock ffield from ffrancis ffalkners and ye way y' goes down ffrom Capt Osgoods house, sd cornr of land being supposed to be about an acre, or an acre & a half, which shall be layd out by ye lott layers, & he payeing for it, according to usuall price, according to usuall price, as ye quantity shall appear wh it is layd out: not prejudiceing ye way to ye feild.


Sold to Henry Holt a corner of land adjoyneing on ye west side of his land, on ye north west corner to run a ? , not exceeding fourteens rodds westerly, and from thence to runn southerly till it meets with ye westerly line, not exceeding an acre and a half, to be forthwith layd out by ye lottlayers, and he payeing

Abbott seaven acres of land for to improve for seaven year., to be layd out on ye east side of Cocheechok river, near ye land of John ffarnum & Timothy Osgood, wch they had on ye same account, they sowing it sufficiently with English hay seed att ye expirated of seaven years, & then to be throwne up to comon, & they makeing use of ye wood, & timber, groweing upon sd land towards ye fencing of it soe farr as it will goe, & ye rest wt shall be wanting, they shall have liberty of ye comon.


Sold to Serjt Goorg Abbott one acre of swamp land joyneing to ye northeast side of ye meadow he bought of his ffather Graves upon Rogers brook, he payeing ffor it according to usuall price.


Sold to Joseph Wilson a gore of land adjoyneing to ye southeast side of his pasture, by ye roade, toing ( toeing?) out even with Leiut. Johnsons feild & runing a straight line to his other corner to a point there he payeing proportionably for wt it shall be wh layd out according to usuall use price


Sold to Nathan Steevens junt half an acre of land att ye northend of his land, to be layd out by ye lottlayers, he payeing for it to ye towne according to usuall price.

Graunted libertie to Majr: John March of Newberry to take what timber is convenient for ye building of two vessels, not exceeding fifty tunn apeice, provided he build such vessels in Andover, and to use noe timber that is fitt for ye building of houses, of make of posts.


Voted and passed that ye vote in ye year 1689:90 referring to ye iron works is ratified & confirmed, with this addition, yt any mine yt may be found upon oe Common shall be free for any man to digg & carry to sd works.


That vote relating to Majr: John March is to be understood to what timbr: is to be felled & corted for sd vessels and all men shall ? ye benifit of, provided they will work with themselves & teems as reasonably as in other places they doe.

Lt. Benjamin Stevens, John Bridges, Walter Wright Sr. and Joseph Marble Sr. are chosen tithing men for the year ensuing.


John Ingalls, Thomas Farnum, William Johnson, and Thomas Chandler were chosen fence viewers for the year ensuing.


Sgt. Ephraim Stevens is chosen clerk of the market for the year ensuing.


Corpll. Benjamin Barker, Corpll. William Johnson was chosen pound keepers for the year ensuing.


Sold to James Bridges one acre of land where his shop now stands he not damaging any way now in use as shall be judged by the neighborhood, he paying twenty shillings in money for it.


Sold to John Abbott Sr. two acres of land lying upon Rogers, his brook on the southeast of the land the town sold to Ensign Joseph Ballard, he having paid for it.


Sold to John Johnson an acre of land and half on the south side of the road to Topsfield and upon the east of Salem road and on the north of mosquito river, he having satisfyed the town for it.


Whereas there was several persons bought land at the town meeting in January last past, the quantity unknown and said persons neglecting to lay out said par- cels, the town ordered that they, said persons, lay out said land within a month after the date hereof and pay said money due for it to the town treasurer and if any particular persons be appointed to lay out land for any person and they refuse, the lot layers shall lay it out, and in case any neglect this order, they shall forfeit their grant and five shillings to the town.

Sold to Timothy Abbott a gore of land on the westerly end of his lot betwixt his lot and the land of William Blunt, he paying for the same as is usual in the town.


Sold to Corpll. Stephen Parker fourty rods of land by his house to make his fence straight, he having paid for it.


Granted liberty to Corpll. Benjamin Barker and Samuel Hutchinson the use of ten acres of land upon the wire hill for seven years and then to throw it up to the com- mon, leaving it in English stubble and sufficiently somme with English hay seeds.


Sold to Walter Wright Sene one acre of swamp land of the east side of the swamp he bought of Capt. Chandler which he hath paid for.


Sold to Sgt. William Lovejoy two acres of upland on the southeast of his own land, having paid for the same.


Sold to Sgt. George Abbott one acre of swamp land adjoining to the acre of swamp he bought of the town last January. He hath paid for it.


Sold to Joseph Ballard Jr. one acre of upland on the south side of his fathers lot. Payed.


That act relating to wolves made about two years ago, is continued for two years more.


Sold to Copl. Hooker Osgood one acre and half of land on the northwest corner of his lot not prejudicing any highway. Payd.


Sold to Robert Grey three acres of land on the southwest end of the land he bought of the town. Payd.


Granted liberty to Henry Grey to improve six acres of land for seven years and to fence it with the wood growing upon it and no other and at the end of ye term to sowe it sufficiently with English hay seed, leaving said ground in English stubble.


Granted to Capt. Christopher Osgood an acre and half of land on the east side of his land on the east side of Shawsheen on the right hand of the way going to his house, which is in full consideration of what damage he received in Sir Edmond Andros his time.


Granted to Lt. John Osgood an acre and half of land on the north of his land on that side of the way his barn stands on, in full satisfaction for damage his father received in Sir Ed Andros, his time, said Osgood to make satisfaction to any person concerned in his fathers estate. Neither of said Osgoods abovesd to prejudice any highway.

Sold to Thomas Chandler, Tertius, a small strip of land about half an acre or not exceeding three quarters lying at the north side of the way to Boston below goodman blunts, he paid in money for it according to usual price.


Sold to John Frye a small corner of land lying on the north side of his home meadow, not interrupting the way lying over the Dam, in quantity about three quarters of an acre, he having paid for it in money according to usual price.


Sold to John Abbott a small lot of swamp land lying between Ens. Ballards land and some land that Abbott bought of the town the last year as is supposed to be about an acre or something more, having paid for it according to usual price.


Sold to Henry Ingalls june one quarter of an acre of land lying on the east side of his house on the other side of the way adjoining the quarter of an acre he bought of the town before, he having paid for it in money according to the usual price.


Sold to Samuel Hutchinson half an acre of land for his conveniency of building, lying on the west side of Benjamin Barkers meadow, between that and the highway going to goodman Marstons from the mill, he having paid money for it according to usual price.


Sold to James Ingalls one acre and half of swamp land joining to Millers meadow on the northwest corner where the brook runneth into the meadow, he paying for it when it is laid out, in money according to usual price.

Sold to Sgt. Samuel Frye half an acre of land joining to his house lying to the south end of his land, he paying for it in money according to usual price.


Sold to Sgt. George Abbut about an acre, or not exceeding an acre and half in two parcels. One parcel at the south end of his meadow on Rogers Brook, the other on the north end of the swamp he bought last year of the town.


Granted liberty to Nathan Stevens Jr. six acres of land to improve for seven years, lying on the east side of Benjamin Stevens his swamp, formerly called Jobs Folly, he sowing of it the seventh year with English hayseed according to former grants of that nature and then to throw it up again to the towns use.


Granted liberty to Joseph Osgood to improve six acres of land for seven years at the west end of his lot between that and the old clay pits, he sowing it sufficiently the seventh year with English hayseed and then to throw it up again to Common.

November in 1699 measured out for John Stevens twenty one acres and a half of land which he bought of John Russ Sr. lying three square bounded northerly with a pine tree and southerly with a maple stub and west- ward with a black oak the said land changed with the town for so much more that was laid out the same day which lieth on the west side of his home land be- ginning with a black oak tree marked which is the northeast corner and then running southeast seventy 72 two rods to a white oak tree marked, then forty six rods to a white oak westward marked and then northerly seventy eight rods to two fast (?) rocks and then thirty eight rods to the first black oak and from the black oak twenty rods east to a white oak tree marked and then southwest eighteen rods to a white oak marked then sixteen rods to the first black oak.

Granted liberty to John Ballard three acres of land to plant for seven years and to sow, the same with English hayseed, lying on the west side of the country road to Woburn and joining to the east end of the land he had of the town last town meeting day.


Granted liberty to Ephraim Marston four acres of land to plant for seven years and to sow the same with English hayseed laying upon the Wyre Hill.


Granted liberty to Nathaniel Lovejoy to exchange about two acres of land lying in Shawsheen field for so much laying in a swamp by Blanchard pond in the northwest corner where the brooks meet.
