CEMETERY COMMISSIONERS' REPORT

During the past year the town has received one additional gift as a fund for perpetual care of lots, making a total of forty-one funds amounting to $4.850. These funds are all in- vested in United States Liberty Bonds.

In the newer part of the North Cemetery much work has been done in clearing out dead trees and removing stumps, which adds materially to the general appearance. The addi- tional appropriation of $300. which the town voted for care of Cemeteries for the past year, has been judiciously expended and is reflected in the appearance of all the Cemeteries.

Appended is statement showing balances held by the treasurer subject to order of the Cemetery Commissioners on Dec. 31, 1921 :

WILLIAM READ, Chairman, FRANK F. AMES, Supt., WALLACE S. DRAPER, Clerk, .... Cemetery Commissioners.

WATER COMMISSIONERS' REPORT

The following report is respectfully submitted :

The past year has been prosperous for the Wayland Water Works.

There has been plenty of water in our reservoir and therefore no necessity for buying elsewhere. Owing to ex- cessive rain storms however there has been an unusual swampy color and taste to the water.

There has been thirty-two new services installed, and nearly five hundred dollars in rates have been collected over the best previous year.

At the September meeting it was voted to lower the 1300 feet of galv. pipe given to the Town on Lakewood Road by Brown & Stackpole. There being a number of cottagers wishing to use the water through the Winter this pipe supplies seventeen cottages and was furnished by Brown & Stackpole as the Water Dept. didn't have the necessary funds in 1990.

In accordance with the Governor's recommendations we put the unemployed to work and laid 1400 feet of pipe on Fuller Ave. to supply new cottages now under construction.
