SAFE DEPOSIT COMPANIES.

THE STATE SAFE DEPOSIT COMPANY, Insurance Building, 240 Main St.,

WORCESTER, MASS.

Every year since Safe Deposit Companies were originally formed has witnessed constant improvements in the methods of construction of their vaults and of their appliances, so that the vaults and safes built to-day are very different from those of a few years since, and afford much greater protection. In most of the prosperous cities of the country new companies of this kind have been established, which offer the highest degree of safety that the genius and skill of modern inventors and mechanics can afford.

The vaults of the STATE SAFE DEPOSIT COMPANY are in an extension of the building of the State Mutual Life Assurance Company in Worcester, built by the Norcross Brothers, upon plans prepared by Mr. Stephen C. Earle, architect, calling for the most massive and substantial construction : a thoroughly fire-proof structure.

The vaults, doors, locks, safes, etc., were constructed by the Damon Safe Works in Boston. They are of unusual strength and thickness, and in every detail of their construction the utmost thoroughness has been observed.

Before entering upon the work, the officers of this Company visited and inspected the newest and most complete deposit vaults in New York, Boston, and other cities, and feel confident that they have availed themselves here of all the recent inventions and discoveries, without the employment of which absolute safety cannot be obtained. The premises are entirely above ground, light and well ventilated. They will be under constant supervision, night and day, and every precaution will be taken to secure perfect protection. The safes are commodious, of various sizes, and accessible only to renters.

Prices, from $5 upwards, according to size.

Adjoining the vault containing the safes, the company has a storage vault, where it will receive, at reasonable rates, trunks or boxes containing silver or jewelry, pictures, etc., and generally articles of value more bulky than ordinary securities.

Persons leaving town for a time, and closing their houses, will find this a con- venience and protection.

A. G. BULLOCK, President.

H. M. WITTER, Sec'y.
