KNOWLES

F.BOLLEL.JRSC

KNOWLES' OPEN SHED BROAD FANCY LOOM,

With Positive Crank Drop-Box Motion. TWENTY-FIVE HARNESSES AND FOUR BOXES AT EACH END.

Perfectly positive in all its operations, and can never be made to put the wrong filling in any shed. Thousands of them in use in the best mills of the country.

The Knowles New 1885 Worsted Loom of 30 Harness capacity, 4 x4 Box, arranged for Double Beams, each beam arranged with an automatic let-off motion, simple and complete, with positive or conditional take-up motion, is built from new and heavy patterns, strongly stayed by iron girders, and fitted with every device that experience has shown to be practical, and retains in it all the fea- tures that have made the Knowles' Open Shed Loom such a success.

Knowles' Two or Four Shed, 4x4 Box, "Pick and Pick" Gingham Loom, with positive Box Motion, so arranged that either one of the series of four boxes can be called at will, with Knowles' Patent Stop Motion combined with Friction Pulley and Brake, which stops the loom " on the pick " without jar or strain upon the loom in any way.

Knowles' New Ingrain Carpet Loom, Positive Box Motion, Journals operated by Chain or Cams, and will run successfully at a high rate of speed.

Knowles' 16-Harness, 4 x4 Box, Fancy Loom, designed especially for the more extensive pat- terns in fancy cottons, worsted dress goods, etc. The Harness and Box Motion are the same as on the Fancy Woolen Loom.

The Harness Motion is Positive in both directions .- No Springs to pull harnesses down, conse- quently none to lift against when raising the harnesses.

The same efficient stop motion which is used on the Gingham Loom is attached to this loon, and combined with the brake in the same way ; the whole mechanism being simple, easily adjusted, with few parts, and readily understood.

Knowles' New Velvet Loom, especially adapted for Silk, Mohair, or Cotton Plushes, Velvets, etc., cutting the goods automatically in the loon.

All the above Looms can be seen in operation at our works, or circulars will be sent ou application.
