TOWN WARRANT.
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.
WORCESTER, SS.
To Either Constable of the Town of Milford, in said County; Greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town, qualified by law to vote in Elections and in Town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Town, on Monday, the First day of March, A. D., 1897, punctually at Eight o'clock in the forenoon, to act upon the following articles, namely :-
[The Polls may be closed at four o'clock in the afternoon on said day of meeting.]
ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
ARTICLE 2. To choose all necessary Town Officers for the year ensuing. A Town Clerk, Town Treasurer, Tax Collec- tor, Auditor, Three Selectmen, Three Assessors, Three Over- seers of the Poor, Two Members of the School Committee, Three Trustees of Public Library, (One to fill vacancy,) One Member of the Board of Health (for 3 years,) Two Trustees of Vernon Grove Cemetery, and Fifteen Constables; to be voted for on ballots prepared and furnished in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 417 of the Acts of 1893, and amend- ments thereto; also upon said ballots the voters will give in their votes "Yes" or "No," in answer to the question, "Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this Town?"
ARTICLE 3. To hear and act upon the reports of the Se- lectmen, School Committee, Overseers of the Poor, Treasurer, Engineers of Fire Department, Tax Collector, Trustees of Pub-

lic Library, Trustees of Vernon Grove Cemetery, and any other officers and committees of said Town.
ARTICLE 4. To raise and appropriate such sum or sums of money as may be necessary to defray Town expenses for the year ensuing.
ARTICLE 5. To see what action the Town will take in re- gard to lighting its streets, and appropriate money for the same.
ARTICLE 6. To see if the Town will authorize the Treas- urer to borrow money in anticipation of the taxes of the cur- rent year.
ARTICLE 7. To determine when all taxes shall be col- lected and paid into the treasury the year ensuing, and to fix the compensation of the Collector of Taxes for collecting the same.
ARTICLE 8. To see if the Town will raise and appropri- ate one hundred and fifty dollars towards defraying the ex- penses of Memorial Day.
ARTICLE 9. To see if the Town will authorize the Select- men to take charge of all legal proceedings for or against the Town.
ARTICLE 10. To see if the Town will appropriate any. money to remove from the arsenal at Watertown and mount the two cannons given by the United States to the G. A. R. Post 22, or take any action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 11. To see if the Town will appropriate any money to repair or rebuild the Central street sewer from the electric light station to South Bow street, or take any action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 12. To see if the Town will accept and allow the report of the Selectmen on the laying out, grading, and ex- tension of Fruit street from South Main street to Depot street, appropriate any money to construct the same, or take any ac- tion in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 13. To see if the Town will accept and allow the report of the Selectmen on the laying out and grading of Pop- lar street, appropriate any money to build the same, or take any action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 14. To see if the Town will accept and allow the report of the Selectmen on the laying out and grading of a way leading from Pearl street to School street through land of L. A. Cook and heirs of Peter Cook, appropriate any money to build the same, or take any action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 15. To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to keep Memorial Hall Building permanently insured for a reasonable amount and make an appropriation for the same.
ARTICLE 16. To see if the Town will appropriate three hundred dollars to paint buildings at Town Farm and put in water closets, or take any action in relation to the same.
ARTICLE 17. To see if the Town will accept and allow the report of the Selectmen in regard to laying out or reloca- ting Spruce street from Congress street to a stone fence post at land formerly of John O'Shea, appropriate any money therefor, or take any action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 18. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of one thousand dollars in addition to the two thou- sand dollars already appropriated for the purpose of building a Town barn, or take any action in relation to the same.
ARTICLE 19. To see what action the town will take in re- lation to the payment of the Town bonds ($25,000) which be- come due on the tenth day of August next.
ARTICLE 20. To see if the Town will appropriate any money to build a sidewalk on the easterly side of North street, or take any action in relation to the same.
ARTICLE 21. To hear the report of the committee on en- larging and remodeling the Town House, see if the Town will accept and allow the same, appropriate any money to carry out the recommendations of the committee, or take any action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 22. To see if the Town will authorize the Select- men to locate an electric light at some suitable point in the Town Park, and appropriate money for the same.
ARTICLE 23. 'To see if the Town will authorize the Select- men to locate an electric light at some suitable point on Wal- nut street, and appropriate money for the same.

ARTICLE 24. To see if the Town are in favor of building a street from the easterly end of Granite street crossing the Hopkinton railroad and bridging the Charles river to a point on the westerly side of East Main street.
And you are hereby directed to serve this Warrant by posting up attested copies thereof at each of the Public Meet- ing Houses and at the Post-Office in said town; also cause an attested copy to be published in The Milford Daily News, Milford Daily Journal, Milford Gazette, and Milford Times, newspapers printed in said Town, Two Sabbaths at least be- fore the time set for said meeting.
Hereof Fail Not, and make due return of this Warrant with your doings thereon, to the Clerk of said Town, at the time of meeting aforesaid.
