The improvements and repairs which have been made in the department the past year are as follows: A new combina- tion chemical and hose wagon added to the apparatus, and is one of the most useful pieces of apparatus the town ever owned, and is not expensive to use.

The upper rooms of the ladder house were cleaned and varnished.
The North Purchase reservoir has been put in proper shape.

to the fact that the park fence has been removed. There now needs some grading to be done on the Spruce and Walnut street sides.
We would recommend the building of a gravel or con- crete walk between the rows of trees on three sides of the park.
