GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Saugus, qualified to vote in town affairs, to meet at the sev- eral voting precincts in the town on Monday, March sixth, A. D., nineteen hundred and twenty-two at five forty-five o'clock A. M., then and there to bring in their ballots to the Wardens for the following town officers :


Town Clerk, three Selectmen, three Overseers of the Poor, Treasurer, Collector of Taxes, Constable, one School Commit- tee, Tree Warden, for one year ; one Assessor, one Board of Health, one Cemetery Commissioner, two School Committee, three Trustees of Public Library, for three years.


Also your "Yes" or "No" to the following question : Shall license be granted for the sale of certain non-intoxicating bever- ages in this town ?


Also your "Yes" or "No" to the following question : Shall an act passed by the General Court in the year nineteen hun- dred and twenty-one (Chapter 14) entitled "An Act to author- ize Assessors in towns to appoint assistant assessors," be accepted ?


Also your "Yes" or "No" to the following question ? Shall an act passed by the General Court in the year nineteen hun- dred and twenty-two entitled "An Act authorizing the town of Saugus to pay a pension to Justin E. Mansfield" be accepted ?


Also to appear at the Town Hall on Monday evening, March thirteenth, A. D., nineteen hundred and twenty-two, at eight o'clock, to hear and act on the following articles, viz. :


ARTICLE I. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.

ART. 2. To hear and act on reports of Committees.


ART. 3. To see what sums of money the town will appropri- ate and raise by taxation for town charges and for any other purpose for which the town may lawfully expend money.


ART. 4. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money in antici- pation of the revenue of the current financial year.


ART. 5. To see if the town will vote to authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen, to refund any or all of revenue notes issued for less than one year, in accordance with provisions of Section 17 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws ; any debts so incurred to be paid from the revenue of 1922.


ART. 6. To see what compensation the town will give the Collector of Taxes for collecting the taxes assessed for the year 1922.


ART. 7. To see what action the town will take in relation to the collection of taxes assessed for the year 1922.


ART. 8. To see if the town will vote to construct a new six-room schoolhouse on the present site of the Armitage school, corner of Pleasant avenue, and Essex street, West Cliftondale. The same to be of modern fireproof construction, and provide new and original equipment therefor and by vote pass upon all matters incidental thereto, including the matter of borrowing in the name and behalf of the town a sum of money not to exceed Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) and to issue the notes or bonds of the town therefor, or to see what action the town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Allen F. Reiser and others.


ART. 9. To see if the town will vote to appoint a committee of not less than five citizens to consist of at least one member of the School Board, the same to be chosen by the Moderator. Said committee shall have full charge of all matters relating to the construction of a new schoolhouse, in West Cliftondale, the selection of an architect and plans therefor, and the provid- ing of new and original equipment for said building, and the said committee shall have full authority to bind the town in all

contracts and obligations which they may deem necessary and expedient to enter into in connection with said work, or take said work, or take any action in relation thereto.


ART. 10. To see if the town will vote to authorize and in- struct the Selectmen, to sell at public auction the Armitage schoolhouse, located at the corner of Pleasant avenue and Essex street, West Cliftondale, to the highest responsible bidder, and to have building moved from lot, or to see what action the town will take in relation thereto.


ART. II. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $2,208.73, being the portion of the net expense so incurred and apportioned by the County Commissioners upon the inhabitants of the town of Saugus, for the care, maintenance and repairs of Hospital for the care of persons suffering from tuberculosis, from June 1, 1921, to December 31, 1921, in accordance with the provisions of General Laws, Chapter III, Section 78 to 91 inclusive. ART. 12. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of $5,500, for the purchase of a new ambulance for the Police Department, or to see what action the town will take in the matter. Board of Selectmen.


ART. 13. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of $4,000, for the purchase of a pump to be installed on the Sea- graves Combination No. I. Board of Engineers.


ART. 14. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of $500, for the purchase of fire hose. Board of Engineers.


ART. 15. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of $900 to purchase land containing 11,297 .square feet, adjoining the Felton school lot, the same to be used for playground pur- poses, agreeable to the petition of Washington L. Bryer and others.


ART. 16. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of $5,000 for improving Adams avenue, from Central street to Vine, or to see what action the town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Edward J. Floyd and others.

ART. 17. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of $5,000 to continue the reconstruction of Walnut and Water streets, provided the state and county contribute a sum not less than $10,000 for the same, or to see what action the town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Harry W. Merrill and others.


ART. 18. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of $3, 200 for unpaid bills for 1921.


ART. 19. To see if the town will vote to lay a water pipe about 200 feet on Tontaquon avenue, westerly from Pine Crest avenue, and make an appropriation for the same, agreeable to the petition of D. M. Cronin and others.


ART. 20. To see if the town will vote to appropriate the sum of $800 for the extension of water pipes from Elm street, southerly through Lenox avenue to Blueridge avenue, | about 400 feet, or to see what action the town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Edward Crosby and others.


ART. 21. To see if the town will vote to appropriate the sum of $250 for the extension of water pipes from Fairmount avenue, westerly on Sterling avenue, about 250 feet, or to see what action the town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Edward Berrigan and others.
