Said bonds or notes shall be denominated on the face thereof "Swampscott Highway Equipment Loan 1946" and shall bear such rates of interest as may be fixed by the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen. That for the purposes specified in Articles 51, 57, 70, 71, 72, 73 and 75 relating to the appropriation of $46,540.00 for the laying of sewers and drains as specified in said articles, that $6,000.00 thereof be raised from the tax levy of the current year in accordance with the provisions of the General Laws and that the Treasurer with the ap- proval of the Selectmen be authorized to borrow a sum not to exceed the remainder, namely $40,540.00, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor; said bonds or notes to be signed by the Treasurer and countersigned by a majority of the Selectmen, and shall be issued and payable in accordance with the provisions of General Laws (Ter. Ed.), Chapter 44, Section 7, sub-paragraph 1, and any acts in amendment thereof or in addition thereto, so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than ten years from the date of issue of the first bond or note or at such earlier dates as the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen may determine. Said bonds or notes shall be denominated on the face thereof "Swampscott Sewer and Drain Loan 1946" and' shall bear such rates of interest as may be fixed by the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen. Voted: Article 4. To accept the report of the Finance Committee and adopt their recommendation as follows:
That the salaries of elected Town officials be the same for the year 1946 as they were in 1945 with the following exceptions: That the Town Clerk's salary be established at $662.50 plus temporary cost of living bonus of $62.50 to be continued until the dissolution of the Annual Town Meeting of 1947. That the Tax Collector's salary be established at $1562.50 plus a temporary cost of living bonus of $62.50 to be continued until the dissolution of the Annual Town Meeting of 1947. That the salary of the Surveyor of Highways be established at $3,425.00 plus a temporary cost of living bonus of $125.00 to be con- tinued until the dissolution of the Annual Town Meeting of 1947.
