That the Town authorize the Bureau of Old Age Assistance to appoint one of its own members as agent and investigating officer, and fix the salary of such appointee at $2,665.70, as provided by Sec. 4A, Chapter 41, General Laws, and that the said $2,665.70 be appropriated from the U. S. Grant O. A. A. Administration as has been recommended under Article 8.

Voted: That the reading of the records of the last meeting be omitted.
Voted: Articles 35, 35A, 37 and 38. To accept the report of the Finance committee, as amended, and adopt their recommendations as follows:
That the Town appoint James C. Deveney, Philip H. Kitfield, Frederick J. Rudd, Harold Enholm and C. Fred Smith its Committee. To report as briefly as possible but with specific recommendations to a special meeting to be called for Tuesday, May 16, 1950 upon the following matters:
A site for a Junior High School; the committee to give considera- tion to the Paradise Road site so-called, the Tedesco property site so-called, Phillips Park, or any other sites available. The advisability of now erecting a Junior High School. The type, size and estimated cost of such school erected and equipped. The advisability of con- structing a new Elementary School in place of the Clark School, or of remodeling or adding to the Clark School. The available land for such construction or remodeling. Size and probable cost of either remodel- ing or new construction of a Clark School. The Committee is requested to put its report in such specific and concise form that in case its recommendations or any of them with reference to new building and new construction are adopted the Town may proceed forthwith to do whatever may be necessary for the immediate construction of a school or schools. The committee is directed to see to it that articles are placed in the warrant for the Special Town Meeting to carry out its recommendations so that actual work on whatever the Town adopts may begin this summer. In case of declination of any of those named to serve or in case of a vacancy on the Committee, the Moderator is authorized to fill the vacancy.

That the Town authorize the School Committee to make neces- sary repairs and alterations to the various schools as recommended by the Department of Public Safety and that the sum of $26,000.00 be appropriated therefor from the Excess and Deficiency Fund.

That the Town accept Chapter 149, Section 33-A of the General Laws as amended by Chapter 657 of the Acts of 1948 which provides for a five-day forty hour week for town em- ployees; provided, however, that the acceptance of this Act shall not apply to the Librarian or to any person employed at the Public Library except the Janitor.

Hamill, Town Engineer, for the purpose of building a road to said town property, and that the sum of $1.00 be appropriated for said land purchase or taking. Unanimous.
