WARRANT FOR A SPECIAL TOWN MEETING.
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.
NORFOLK, SS. To the Constables of the Town of Weymouth, in said County. GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth, aforesaid, qualified to vote in town affairs, to meet in the Odd Fellows Opera House, East Weymouth, on Wednesday, October fourteenth, nineteen hundred and fourteen, at seven o'clock and forty-five minutes in the evening, then and there to act upon the following articles, namely :
Article 1. To choose a Moderator.
Art. 2. To hear and act upon the report of any committee appointed at any former meeting and to choose any committees the town may think proper.
Art. 3. By request of the Water Commissioners : To see if the town will vote to authorize the issue of bonds, or notes, to an amount not exceeding $98,000 for the purpose of refunding a part of its Water Loan, under authority of and pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 353, of the Massachusetts Acts of 1914; to determine the particulars thereto, not inconsistent with said Act and take any action that may be necessary for the cancelling of its water bonds, maturing subsequent to the year, 1921, and which is now held as a part of the Water Loan Sinking Fund.

Art. 4. By request of the Water Commissioners : To see if the town will vote to raise $4,000 of the $5,000 appropriation voted March 9th under Article 45 of the warrant for said meeting for the purpose of making further construction of water works, by issuing $4,000 bonds under authority of and pursuant to the provisions of Massachusetts Acts of 1913, Chapter 276, and to consolidate said bonds with the $9,000 bonds proposed to be is- sued under authority of the vote of the town under Article 47 of said warrant, said consolidated issue to be considered as one loan ; to determine other particulars of said issue, and to take any action in relation thereto.
Art. 5. On petition of the Fire Apparatus Committee and the Fire Engineers : To see if the town will instruct said committee and Fire Engineers to transfer the unexpended balances arising from the purchase of fire apparatus to be spent for installing heaters and making repairs in connection with same and also for purpose of maintaining permanent men to May 1, 1915.
Art. 6. On petition of the Fire Apparatus Committee and the Fire Enginecrs : To see if the town will instruct said committee and Fire Engineers to dispose of such apparatus as in their judg- ment they deem advisable.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting a copy thereof, attested by you in writing, in each of two public places in each voting precinct in said town seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.
. Hereof, fail not, and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk of said town at or before the time of said meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING.
Pursuant to the foregoing Warrant a meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Weymouth was held at Odd Fellows Opera House, East Weymouth, on Wednesday, October 14th, 1914, the meeting being called to order and the warrant was read by the Town Clerk at 7.45 o'clock in the evening.
Article 1. Hon. Louis A. Cook was elected as Moderator by ballot.
Art. 2. No reports were made under this article.
Art. 3. Previous to taking a vote under this article, the Mod- erator appointed Bradford Hawes and Martin E. Hawes as tellers, and administered the oath to them.
Voted, That the Town Treasurer be and he is hereby author- ized, with the approval of the Water Commissioners, to prepare, issue and sell bonds or notes, to an amount not exceeding ninety- eight thousand ($98,000) dollars for the purpose of refunding a part of its water loan, under authority of and pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 353 of the Massachusetts Acts of 1914; and to take any action that may be necessary for the cancelling of the town water bonds maturing subsequent to the year 1921, and which are now held as a part of the water loan sinking fund ; all other particulars as to the form, issuance and sale of said

bonds or notes not inconsistent with said Act, to be determined by the Town Treasurer.
The result of this vote was-Yes, 160; no, 1.
Art. 4. Voted, That the Town Treasurer be and he hereby is authorized, with the approval of the Water Commissioners, to prepare, issue and sell $4,000 of bonds under authority of Massa- chusetts Acts of 1913, Chapter 276, the proceeds thereof to be applied to the $5,000 appropriated by vote of the town, March 9th, under Article 45 of the warrant for said meeting for the purpose of making further construction of water works, and to consolidate into one issue said bonds and the $9,000 of bonds proposed to be issued under authority of vote of the town on said date under Article 47 of the warrant for said meeting and under authority of · said Chapter 276, said consolidated issue of $13,000 bonds to bear interest at the rate of 42% per annum, payable semi- annually, to be dated May 1, 1914, and to be payable $2,000 on the first day of May of each of the years 1915 to 1920 inclusive, and $1,000 on the first day of May, 1921 ; all other particulars as to the form, issuance and sale of said bonds to be determined by the Town Treasurer.
The result of this vote was : Yes, 134; No, 1.
Art. 5. Unanimously voted, That the Fire Apparatus Com- mittee and the Fire Engineers be authorized to transfer the unex- pended balance arising from the purchase of fire apparatus be spent for installing heaters and making repairs in connection with same and also for the purpose of maintaining permanent men to May 1, 1915.
Art. 6. Previous to taking a vote under this article the Moderator appointed Nelson W. Gardner as a teller. pro tem and administered the oath to him.
Voted, That the subject matter of this Article be postponed to the next annual meeting in March.
Voted to adjourn.

To the Constables of the Town of Weymouth, in said County. GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid, qualified to vote in elections therein, to meet at the polling places in their respective precincts, to wit : In precincts One, Three, Five and Six, at the halls of the Fire Engine Houses located in those precincts respectively ; in precinct Two, at the Odd Fellows Opera House; and in precinct Four, at the Hose House at Nash's Corner, on Tuesday, the third day of November, 1914, at fifteen minutes before six o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to bring in to the Wardens of their respective precincts their votes on one ballot for the following named public officers, to wit :
For Governor for this Commonwealth.
For Lieutenant-Governor for this Commonwealth.
For Secretary for this Commonwealth.
For Treasurer and Receiver-General for this Commonwealth. For Auditor for this Commonwealth.

2. Shall an act passed by the General Court in the year 1914 entitled "An act to make Saturday a half-holiday for laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by or iu behalf of the Com- monwealth and otherwise to regulate their employment" be accepted ? (Chapter 688, Acts of 1914.)
