Article 31. Voted: That no action be taken under this article.
Article 32. Motion made by the Appropriation Committee: To appropriate from surplus the sum of $420 for reimbursing Dr. Karle H. Granger for medicines and services rendered Miss Hannah C. Orcutt, late of Weymouth, provided the Town Coun- sel approves the payment as being one which the Town may legally make.

Article 33. Voted: That the Town accept with thanks the bequest to it under the will of the late Walter G. Forsythe, subject to the conditions under which said bequest is made.
Atricle 34. Voted: That the Town accept with thanks the bequest to it under the will of the late William H. Pratt, subject to the conditions upon which said bequest is made.
Article 35. Voted to adopt the following additions to Article 5 of our present By-Laws:
Sec. 7. No street or way shall be laid out or accepted by the Town of Weymouth of a width less than 40 feet, unless the same shall have been actually opened and used for public travel prior to January 1, 1924, or is requested and recommended by the Selectmen and Superintendent of Streets.
Sec. 8. No street or way constructed through lands by the owners thereon shall be laid out or accepted or recommended by the Selectmen or any committee of the Town for acceptance as a public street or way of the Town of Weymouth, unless previ- ously constructed and completed to subgrade in accordance with specifications set forth in Section 12.
Sec. 9. Any street or way constructed through private lands by the owner thereon in accordance with the specifications set forth in Section 12, may be laid out and accepted as a public street of the Town of Weymouth provided such action is taken in accordance with the provisions of Laws of Massachusetts; and provided also, that the owners of at least 75 per cent. of the lands through which such street or way passes have signed re- leases of all property which the Town may deem it necessary to acquire for such layout and accepted and have granted sloping privileges and have agreed to pay betterment assessments.
Sec. 10. Wherever it is necessary in the opinion of the Superintendent of Streets to construct catch-basins on any such street or way and lay drains to connect with a permanent outlet, such catch-basins and drains may be constructed and laid, and the

cost of such work shall be considered as a part of the total cost of constructing said street or way.
Sec. 11. Side gutters on any such street or way having a grade of five per cent. or over may, if in the opinion of the Superintendent of Streets it be necessary, be paved four feet wide, with stone or concrete, the cost of such work shall be con- sidered as a part of the total cost of constructing said, street or way.
Sec. 12. A plan and profile on paper or tracing-cloth 19 inches wide by 28 inches long at a scale of not less than one inch to 40 feet of every street, shall be filed in the office of the Super- intendent of Streets, who shall fix the grade thereon.
(a) Every such street or way shall be at least forty feet wide and have a road-bed equal to at least two-thirds of said street or way. -
(b) All' loam shall be removed from the limits of the street or way to a depth of at least twelve inches below. the finished grade for the roadway and six inches below the finished grade for the sidewalk, or such greater depth as may be required by the Selectmen. All rock or boulders removed from. the street or way shall be used in embankment.
(c) The entire area of such street or way shall be first cleared of all stumps, brush, roots and like material and of all trees not intended for preservation.
(d) All work in excavation or embankment shall be brought accurately to a sub-grade of not less than eight inches for the side- walk, below finished grade, or such greater depth as the nature of the sub-soil, in the opinion of the Selectmen may require.
(e) All corners of intersecting streets or ways shall be rounded as approved by the Selectmen.

WARRANT FOR STATE PRIMARY MEETING COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
NORFOLK, ss.
To either of the Constables of the Town of Weymouth. GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid, qualified to vote in primaries, to meet at the polling places in their precincts, to wit: in Precincts 1, 3, 5, 6, in the halls of the Fire Engine Houses located in those precincts respec- tively; in Precinct 2, G. A. R. Hall; in Precinct 4, at the building of the Citizens Association, Inc., on Front Street; in Precinct 7, at the Lovell's Corner Improvement Association Building on Washington Street, on Tuesday, the ninth day of September, 1924, at 3 o'clock P. M., for the following purposes :
To bring in their votes to the Primary Officers for the nomi- nation of candidates of political parties for the following offices:
Governor for this Commonwealth.
Lieutenant-Governor for this Commonwealth.
Secretary of the Commonwealth for this Commonwealth.
Treasurer and Receiver-General for this Commonwealth.
Auditor of the Commonwealth for this Commonwealth.
Attorney-General for this Commonwealth.
Senator in Congress for this Commonwealth.
Representative in Congress for 14th Congressional District.
Councilor for 1st Councilor District.
Senator for Norfolk and Plymouth Senatorial District.
Representative in General Court for 5th Norfolk Represen- tative District.
County Commissioner (2) for Norfolk County.
One County Commissioner (to fill vacancy) for Norfolk County.

Eleven delegates to State Conventions of the Republican Party.
Nine delegates to State Conventions of the Democratic Party. All the above candidates and officers are to be voted upon one ballot.
The polls will be open from 3 to 9 o'clock P. M.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting at- tested copies thereof attested by you in writing in each of two public places in each voting precinct in said town, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk of said Town on or before the second day of September, 1924.

In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid, qualified to vote in elections, to meet at the polling places in their precincts, to wit: in Precincts 1, 3, 5, 6, in the halls of the Fire Engine Houses located in those precincts respec- tively; in Precinct 2, G. A. R. Hall; in Precinct 4, at the building of the Citizens Association, Inc., on Front Street; in Precinct 7, at the Lovell's Corner Improvement Association Building on Washington Street, on Tuesday, the fourth day of November, 1924, at fifteen minutes before six o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to bring in to the election officers their votes on one ballot for the following named public officers, to wit:
Eighteen Electors of President and Vice-President.
Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, Secretary, Treasurer, Audi- tor, Attorney-General, Senator in Congress, Congressman, Coun- cillor, Senator, Representative in General Court, County Commis- sioners (2), Register of Probate and Insolvency, County Treas- urer, County Commissioner (to fill vacancy), and also, to vote "Yes" or "No" upon each of the following questions:
Referendum Question No. 1. "Proposed Amendment to the Constitution." Article III of the Amendments to the Constitu- tion as amended, is hereby further amended by striking out, in the first line, the word "male."
Referendum Question No. 2. Section 1. No person shall be deemed to be ineligible to hold state, county or municipal office by reason of sex. Section 2, Article IV, of the articles of amend- ment of the constitution of the Commonwealth, as amended by Article LVII of said amendments, is hereby further amended by striking out the words, "Change of name shall render the com- mission void, but shall not prevent reappointment under the new name." and inserting in place thereof the following words: Upon the change of name of any woman, she shall re-register under her new name and shall pay such fee therefor as shall be established by General Court.
Referendum Question No. 3. Acceptance of Chapter 370, Acts of 1923, entitled, "An Act relative to intoxicating liquors and certain non-intoxicating beverages."
Referendum Question No. 4. Acceptance of Chapter 454, Acts of 1923, entitled, "An Act to provide funds towards the cost of construction and maintenance of highways and bridges by means of an excise tax on gasoline and other fuel used for pro- pelling motor vehicles upon or over the highways of the Common- wealth."
Referendum Question No. 5. Acceptance of Chapter 473, Acts of 1923, entitled, "An Act relating to deposits with others than banks."
Referendum Question No. 6. Acceptance of Chapter 210, Acts of 1923, entitled, "An Act to ascertain the will of the people with reference to the retention of the daylight saving law, so called."
Referendum Question No. 7. Acceptance of Chapter 509,

Acts of 1924, entitled, "An Act to ascertain the opinion of the people of the Commonwealth as to the ratification of the pro- posed amendment to the constitution of the United States em- powering the Congress to limit, regulate and prohibit the labor of persons under eighteen years of age."
The polls will be open at fifteen minutes before six o'clock in the forenoon and close at four o'clock in the afternoon.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting at- tested copies thereof attested by you in writing in each of two pub- lic places in each voting precinct in said town, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk of said Town on or before the twenty-seventh day of October, 1924.
