At this point Mr. Lane MOVED reconsideration of Article 3.
Vote taken and the motion to reconsider did not prevail.
ARTICLE IV. (At Joint Request of Board of Sewer Commissioners and Building Committee.) To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, and appropriate, for the construction of a sewer line by way of Lake, Charles and Humphrey Streets, or otherwise, to the James Humphrey School, a distance of 1,950 feet, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Upon motion made by the Appropriation Committee, it was unani- mously
VOTED: No action.
At this point Mr. Roulston, Secretary of the Finance Committee, asked unanimous consent to take up Article 6 before Article 5. The reason as explained is that if the Town Meeting denies an extension from Whitman Street to Randall Avenue, the Finance Committee would then recommend that the action of the last Town Meeting in laying out Whitman Street remain as is.
Comes the question on the motion by the Appropriation Committee to take up Article 6 before Article 5. UNANIMOUSLY VOTED.
ARTICLE VI. (At Recommendation of Selectmen.) To see if the Town will vote to discontinue as a Town way the extension of Whitman Street to Lake Street as laid out by the Board of Selectmen and accepted by the Town under Article 14 of the Annual Town Meeting of March 6, 1950, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Upon motion duly made by the Appropriation Committee, it was unanimously
VOTED: That the Town rescind the action and discontinue the layout of Whitman Street Extension, as taken under Articles 7 and 14 of the Annual Town Meeting of March 6 and 8, 1950.
