Voted, That the Town acting under Chapter 36, Acts of 1929, do authorize the Park Commissioners to appoint members of their Board as laborers on the Park for a term not exceeding one year, and that said laborers be paid at the rate of 65 cents per hour.

ARTICLE 1


Voted, That the Town appropriate and transfer from the Excess and Deficiency Account $14,000.00 to be expended for highway and sidewalk improvements, under the direction of the Highway Surveyor, and as recommended by the Road Com- mittee, and that it is the desire of the voters assembled that no amount in excess of $100.00 be paid to any one person for labor, under this appropriation, and that the proportion necessary to expend under trucks, be divided as nearly as possible among the trucks available and desiring work.

Questions taken up :


Parking and Parking Spaces, and all phases of Parking be take up by a committee of eleven, to consist of the three Selectmen, the three Park Commissioners, three members of the North Scituate Beach Improvement Association, and two mem- bers at large to be appointed by the Moderator, and report their findings at the Annual Town Meeting in March.

That a committee of five be appointed by the Moderator to study all phases of this problem, meeting with committees from other neighboring towns, and report their findings at the next Annual Meeting in March, with such suggestions as they may deem wise.

The Question of Zoning


Referred to the Committee of Fifty, to report at the Annual Meeting in March.


Water Question


Voted, That we authorize and instruct the Selectmen; with the aid of Counsel, to oppose the proposed rates, and take all necessary steps to prevent their going into effect.


Voted, That a committee of three consisting of the Chair- man of Selectmen, Town Treasurer and Town Counsel, be ap- pointed to make a thorough investigation as to the costs of op- eration and estimated value of the Scituate Water Company, within the confines of Scituate, and make a study of operating costs and value of a water system under Town ownership, the committee to report their findings at the Annual Meeting in March, 1931. All expenses incurred by the committee shall be taken from any fund that is now or may become available.
