ANNUAL TOWN MEETING, MARCH 5, 1928
ARTICLE 1
To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting. James H. Dwyer received 41 votes; William J. Roberts re- ceived 149 votes. The Moderator qualified by the Town Clerk.
Tellers appointed by the Moderator: J. Francis Bres- nahan, William E. Supple, Wilbur F. Merritt and Donald S. Pitkin.
Whereas, it is befitting, that by the death of Ernest R. Seaverns, Charles W. Peare, G. Dana Yeaton and Walter C. Gardner that this community has lost faithful servants and loyal citizens. Now, therefore, be it Resolved that the worth of Ernest R. Seaverns, Charles W. Peare, G. Dana Yeaton and Walter C. Gardner and their value as honest and capable officials and loyal citizens of Scituate be spread on the records of this meeting of the Town of Scituate, and a copy sent to their respective families.

Voted, That the Town do authorize its Board of Public Welfare to contract at their discretion for the support of the Town's poor.
ARTICLE 6
Voted, That the Town do authorize the Town Treas- urer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow during the financial year beginning January 1, 1929, in anticipation of the collection of revenue of said year, such sums of money as may be necessary for the current expenses of the Town, but not exceeding the limit fixed by law, giving the note or notes of the Town therefor, payable within one year from the dates thereof, and to renew such note or notes as may be given for a less period than one year, providing the limit of one year is not exceeded thereby. All debts incurred under this authority shall be paid from the revenue of the then current year.

ARTICLE 7
To hear the report of any committee heretofore chosen. No committee reported.
ARTICLE 8
To see if the Town will retain the Road Committee, composed of the Selectmen, Chairman of Advisory Board, and the Highway Surveyor, to determine after a public hearing held by it, what highways in the Town shall be specially repaired, the character of the work to be done, and the nature and contract for its performance.

ARTICLE 9
Voted, That the Town authorize the Selectmen to pros- ecute, compromise, or defend any suit or suits within the Commonwealth in the name of the Town.
ARTICLE 10
Voted, That the Town do instruct its Selectmen to con- trol, regulate or prohibit the taking of eels, clams, quahaugs, razor fish and scallops within the Town of Scituate, in accordance with Chapter 91, Section 85, Revised Laws, as amended by Acts of 1913, Chapter 517, and further amended by Acts of 1915, Chapter 86, General Laws.
ARTICLE 11
Voted, That the Town do authorize the Selectmen to contract for the part-time service of a Public Health Nurse, to be employed under the direction of the Board of Health, Board of Public Welfare, and School Committee, and raise and appropriate the sum of $1,200 for the same.
ARTICLE 12
Will the Town vote to establish the salaries and com- pensations of all elected Town Officers?
