ARTICLE 43
To see if the Town will vote, as an expression of opinion, that public convenience and necessity require a means of transportation upon certain public ways within the confines of the Town of Scituate for the carriage of passengers for hire between the North Scituate Railroad Station, so-called, and Scituate Harbor and intermediate points comprising North Scituate Beach, Shore Acres, Hatherly Beach and the Sandhills, and that the Sclectmen be instructed to issue such license or licenses under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 159A, and amendments thereto, for the carriage of passengers for hire upon such highways within the Town of Scituate that public convenience and necessity require as a means of transportation to and from the aforesaid points. -John J. Heffernan et al.

WARRANT FOR SPECIAL TOWN MEETING

Plymouth, ss.
To either of the Constables of the Town of Scituate in the County of Plymouth, Greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town, qual- ified to vote in elections and in Town Affairs, to meet at the Scituate High School Auditorium in said Scituate on Saturday, the thirteenth day of June next, at three o'clock in the afternoon, then and there to act on the following articles :-
ARTICLE 1
Will the Town raise and appropriate or transfer from any avail- able funds, the sum of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) to be used in conjunction with any monies appropriated by the Town of Marsh- field and by the County of Plymouth or either of them to be used to defray the difference in cost of constructing a permanent bridge in place of a temporary bridge to be built by the Federal Government and the Department of Public Works across South River between Julian Street in the Town of Scituate as laid out by the County Commissioners under decree No. 1015, and Bayberry Road in the Town of Marshfield as laid out by the County Commissioners under decree No. 1014, and to authorize the Selectmen to agree in writing to pay the money thus appropriated upon the order of the Department of Public Works, in accordance with Section 30 of Chapter 81 of the General Laws, or act thereon.
ARTICLE 2
Will the Town raise and appropriate or transfer from any avail- able funds the sum of three hundred dollars ($300.00) for the pay- ment of damages caused by the taking of land on Julian Street at Humarock by petition to the County Commissioners, No. 1015, or act thereon.
ARTICLE 3
To seek the opinion of the voters relative to the establishing of precinct voting for the duration of the emergency.
ARTICLE 4
Will the Town vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds a sum of money not to exceed three hundred dollars ($300.00) to provide adequate transportation, by bus or otherwise, between Humarock and the Greenbush railroad station; and thereby

Law Proposed by Initiative Petition
Shall the proposed measure which provides that the present stat- utes which make it a crime punishable by fine or imprisonment know- ingly to advertise, print, publish, distribute or circulate any matter containing reference to any person from whom or place where any drug, instrument or means whatever, or any advice or information may be obtained, for the purpose of preventing pregnancy, or to sell, lend, give away, exhibit, offer or advertise any drug, medicine, instrument or other article for the prevention of conception, or to write or print information of any kind stating when, where, how, of whom, or by what means such article can be obtained, or to manufacture or make such article, shall not apply to treatment or prescription given to mar- ried persons for protection of life or health by or under the direction of registered physicains nor to teaching in chartered medical schools nor to publication or sale of medical treatises or journals, which was disapproved in the House of Representatives by a vote of 77 in the af- firmative and 133 in the negative and in the Senate by a vote of 16 in the affirmative and 18 in the negative, be approved?
