REPORT OF THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE

Possibly the greatest task facing the School Committee in 1949 was the preparation for the tremendous school population growth immediately ahead. New school buildings were deemed vitally necessary by the Com- mittee as early as February when the architect, John Nichols, was engaged ยท to give the Committee his advice regarding a new high school. A Building Committee was later formed for the purpose of considering an addition to the high school, including Mrs. Alma Dutton and Mr. William J. Lee as School Committee representatives.
