ART. 24. To see if the town will vote to build a sewer on Cliff street from River street to point on said Cliff street near the residence of Arsene Girard, raise and appropriate money therefor or act thereon.


ART. 25. To see if the town will vote to amend Section 4, 7 and 9 of the Town By-laws relating to plumbing by striking out the said sections and inserting in place thereof the following:

Sec. 4. The drain from every building shall be of sufficient size, and from a point ten feet outwardly from the inside wall, and not less than four inches in diameter, shall con- tinue up to and through rool to a height of two feet, and not less than one foot above the top of any window within fifteen feet, shall be made of cast iron, brass or galvanized wrought iron, except that lead pipes may be used for short connections and such pipes shall be of uniform thickness.


Sec. 7. Suitable cleanouts shall be pro- vided in main drain near cellar wall on the horizontal pipe, and on all runs of fifteen feet in lengths, unless otherwise permitted. 'The cleanout at cellar wall shall be in as direct a line as possible with sewer connections. Cleanouts at foot of all vertical pipes, and all vertical pipes shall connect with horizontal pipes with 45 degree fittings.


Sec. 9. All traps shall be protected from syphonage or air pressure by a special air pipe of size not less than one and one quarter inch in diameter placed outside of below trap; ex- cept as hereafter provided, (S traps shall be so vented in all cases), no special air pipe shall be required for the trap of the upper fixture, if said trap is within a distance of four (4) feet from vent stack, and connects with soil or waste pipe not more than eighteen (18) inches below the top water line of the trap.

In the case of batteries of water-closets, the special air pipe from each trap may be omitted, provided the soil or waste pipe un- diminished in size is continued to a point above the roof, or re-vented into the main system above all fixtures.


The diameter of back air pipes for water- closets, to be two inches for one to three closets, three inches for four to six closets and above six to be four inches. No back vents shall be taken from side or crown of round traps, and continous venting system to be used at all times where practicable, otherwise vent pipe to be within two feet of trap, or act thereon.


ART. 26. To see if the town will vote to buy an automobile chemical truck or any other fire apparatus, raise and appropriate money therefor or act anything thereon.


ART. 27. To see if the town will vote to appoint a committee to confer with the Southbridge Water Supply Company regarding the price it will sell its plant, corporate holdings, rights and privileges to the town, also with power to investigate and appraise said corporate holdings, etc., and to hire or engage assist- ants for this purpose, raise and appropriate money therefor or act anything thereon.


ART. 28. To see if the town will vote to maca- damize or otherwise repair the Eastford road, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act anything thereon.


ART. 29. To see if the town will vote to maca- damize or otherwise repair the North Woodstock road,

ART. 30. To see if the town will vote, in accord- ance with Sections 2 and 3 of chapter 104 of the Re- vised Laws, the provisions of which were accepted by the town, to prescribe as the limits within which no dwelling house or other structure more than eight feet in length or breadth and seven feet in height, except detached houses or structures situated more than one hundred feet from any other building and wooden structures erected on wooden wharves, shall be built, unless made and covered with an incombustible ma- terial or unless a license in writing is granted therefor by the selectmen for public good or necessity and rec- orded in the town records, the area within the follow- ing boundaries :-


Beginning at the northwest corner of Main and Everett streets; thence north to the private way of the Webster & Southbridge · Gas & Electric Company ; thence northeaster- ly and northerly by land of the Gas & Electric Company, to location of New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Company ; thence westerly by the location of the said Railroad to the west line of Foster street; thence north- erly by west line of Foster and Central streets, to south bank of Quinebaug river; thence westerly on south bank of river to the dam of the Central Mills Company; thence southerly in a straight line to the southwest corner of railroad location on Hook street; thence

And you are directed to serve this Warrant by publishing an attested copy thereof twice in the South- bridge Press and Herald, the first publication being not less than nine days next preceeding the day of the meeting,-or by posting up such attested copies in four conspicuous public places within the Town, at least nine days, including Sundays,-before the day of holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this War- rant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at the time and place hereinbefore named. The polls to open at 5.45 o'clock a.m. and to close at 4 o'clock p.m.
