To see if the Town will authorize the acquisition by purchase, eminent domain or otherwise, of any land, easements or rights therein, including an ease- ment or easements in land adjoining the location of any or all public ways, the laying out of which is accepted at this meeting, consisting of a right to have the land of the location protected by having the surface of such ad- joining land slope from the boundary of the location; make an appropriation for such acquisition; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 33. To see if the Town will provide by by-law that not exceeding two-thirds of the cost of the

construction thereafter of any sewer or extension of any existing sewer or the doing of any other work in connec- tion therewith, except particular sewers from common sewers to the lines of ways, shall be assessed upon the estates especially benefited thereby, and that such cost shall be the actual expense incurred for any such con- struction or extension and other work in connection therewith, or the average cost, to be determined by the Board of Public Works in each year, of such construction and extension and other work in connection therewith in a period of not less than three years next preceding and excluding or including the year in which such average cost is to be determined, all as provided in Chapter 140 of the Acts of 1931, being "An Act Relative to Sewer Assessments in the Town of Arlington"; or take any ac- tion in relation to all or any of the foregoing.

Article 34. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation for the observance and celebration of the bi- centenary of the birth of George Washington; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 35. To see if the Town will accept Section 12 of Chapter 40 of the General Laws which provides as follows: "A town which accepts this section, or has ac- cepted corresponding provisions of earlier laws, by a two- thirds vote at an annual meeting, may purchase or lease land, and erect, alter, enlarge, repair and improve build- ings for public baths and wash houses, either with or without open drying grounds, and may make open bath- ing places, provide them with the requisite furniture, fittings and conveniences and provide instruction in swimming. Such town may establish rates for the use of such baths and wash houses, and appoint officers

therefor, and may make by-laws for the government of such officers, and authorize them to make regulations for the management thereof and for the use thereof by non- residents of said town"; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 36. To see if the Town will establish and maintain a public swimming bath or baths, make an open bathing place or places and/or construct a bathing beach or beaches at the reservoir at Arlington Heights and/or Spy Pond; erect a building or buildings; provide the requisite furniture, fittings and conveniences; make an appropriation for any such purpose or purposes and/or for the maintenance of such baths, bathing places and/or beaches; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto. Article 37. To see if the Town will vote to install water mains and/or hydrants in and on Wright Street; make an appropriation therefor; determine in what man- ner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 39. To see if the Town will dedicate to, and use for, the purposes of a public park all or any portion

of the land of the Town sometimes called the "Crusher Lot" bounded by Gray Street, Oakland Avenue, the premises of the Junior High School West, and land of owners unknown; authorize the Board of Park Com- missioners to locate a public park on said land; make an appropriation for the laying out, improvement, develop- ment, maintenance, and/or use of the same; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action relating to said land as a public park or to all or any of the foregoing.


Article 40. To see if the Town will accept the gift by Arlington Post 1775 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, of one 105-millimeter German howitzer, said howitzer being now located upon the park at the junction of Massa- chusetts Avenue and Broadway ; or take any other action in any way relating thereto.


Article 41. To see if the Town will modify or re- scind the vote passed on January 27, 1932 under Article 8 of the warrant for the special meeting called for that date, whereby there was appropriated the sum of one hun- dred seventeen thousand, two hundred twenty-three and 86/100 ($117,223.86) dollars to pay an assessment by the County Commissioners of the County of Middlesex for a proportionate share of the expense of construction of a county tuberculosis hospital; and will appropriate such sum or any other sum or sums to pay such an assess- ment under Section 83 of Chapter 111 of the General Laws or any other provision of law; and/or to pay part of the cost or expense of the construction by said Com- missioners of a hospital for the care of persons suffering from consumption, apportioned or assessed by them, all as provided in Chapter 185 of the Acts of 1921, Chapter 369 of the Acts of 1928, Sections 78 to 91, inclusive, of said Chapter 111, and/or any act passed during the pres- ent year, and all acts in amendment or repeal thereof or

addition thereto, or as' otherwise provided; will elect that all or any portion of its apportionment or assessment and/or interest, expenses and costs, on account of such hospital be funded and/or first paid by said County Com- missioners, will file such election with the said County Com- missioners, and will specify the period for the payment of any such apportionment or assessment; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action in any way relating to all or any of the foregoing or to anything hereinbefore mentioned.


Article 42. To see if the Town will authorize the present and/or any future Board of Selectmen to let or lease all or any portion of the Menotomy Hall Building and/or any other building or premises owned by it; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 43. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation to carry on the work relating to employment of the poor, money to be expended under the direction of Board of Selectmen; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take other action relating thereto.


Article 44. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation for the grading and improvement of "Meadow- brook Park"; money to be expended under direction of the Park Commissioners; determine in what manner the money shall be raised ; or take any action relating thereto.
