ARTICLE 28. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $2,700.00 or any sum to purchase a 1 ton chassis and eight foot express body with 4 wheel drive and winch assembly, for the use of the Water Depart- ment, or take any other action relative thereto.

ARTICLE 31. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $74,000.00 or any sum to install or lay an 8-inch water main from the now existing water system to the Palmer line; determine whether the money shall be pro- vided for by taxation, by appropriation from available funds in the treasury, and/or by the issuance of a loan under authority of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, or take any other action relative thereto.

ARTICLE 32. To see if the Town will vote to adopt the following by-law: "No person shall fire or discharge any firearms or explosives of any kind within the limits of any highway, park, or other public property, or on any private property except with the consent of the owner or tenant thereof or the agent of either; provided, however, that this by-law shall not apply to the lawful defense of life or prop- erty, or to any discharge of firearms in accordance with law enforcement," or take any other action relative thereto.

ARTICLE 33. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from the Road Machinery Fund the sum of $3,300.00 or any sum to purchase a 2 ton dump truck for the use of the Highway Dept. or take any other action relative thereto.

ARTICLE 35. To see if the Town will vote to repeal that part of Article 2, Section 6, of the Town by-laws which requires the election of five constables for one year; and, instead of electing constables, to authorize the appointment of constables by the Selectmen in accordance with the pro- visions of the General Laws, Chapter 41, Sections 91A and 91B.


ARTICLE 36. To see if the Town will vote to amend the zoning by-laws and change Resident "A2" district to "Busi- ness" district the hereinafter described parcel of land lying southerly of Boston Road and easterly of Stony Hill road, beginning at a point in the easterly line of land formerly of Francis J. Powers, et al, and now supposed to belong to the Holly Realty Corp., said point being distant south- erly one hundred and 69/100 (100.69) feet from the south- erly line of Boston Road, thence running easterly along lines parallel to and one hundred (100) feet distance south- erly from said southerly line of Boston Road about eighteen hundred thirty (1830) feet to a point in the westerly line of land now or formerly of Albert Bonavita said point being distant southerly one hundred and 37/100 (100.37) feet from said southerly line of Boston Road; thence run- ning southerly along said westerly line of land of said Bonavita eight hundred fifty (850) feet to a point; thence running westerly crossing land of the petitioners, about eighteen hundred thirty seven (1837) feet to a point in said easterly line of land of said realty corp; thence run- ning northerly along said realty corp. easterly line eight hundred fifty (850) feet to the point of beginning.


ARTICLE 37. To see if the Town will vote to accept as a public way that portion of Woodland Road, now a pri- vate way, as shown on plan of land known as "Rustic Acres" as surveyed by Merrill & Sears, owned by Thomas B. and Nellie A. Welch, beginning at Soule Road and run- ning in a northerly direction for a distance of 700 feet more or less, and that the sum of $870.00 or any other sum be raised and appropriated for original construction

of Woodland Road and that betterment assessments be levied in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 80 of the General Laws, or take any other action relative thereto.

ARTICLE 38. To see if the Town will vote to accept as a public way the street now known as West Colonial Road as shown on plan of land in Wilbraham entitled "Colonial Acres" as surveyed by Merrill & Sears, Civil Engineers, dated February 7, 1952, beginning at the southerly side of Lot #44, now known as the Pugsley lot on Colonial Road, and running southerly for a distance of approximately 749' more or less to the southerly side of lot #90 known as the Reese Lot, and that the sum of $825.00 or any other sum be raised and appropriated for original construction of West Colonial Road and that betterment assessments be levied in accordance with the provision of Chapter 80 of the Gen. Laws, or take any other action relative thereto.

ARTICLE 39. To see if the Town will vote to accept as a public way the street now known as South Colonial Road as shown on plan of land in Wilbraham entitled "Colonial Acres" as surveyed by Merrill & Sears, Civil Engineers, dated February 7, 1952, beginning at the south westerly corner of Lot No. 88 now owned by Charles J. Ouimet, Jr. and Marie T. Ouimet, and running approximately 560 feet more or less to the easterly sides of Lot #76 known as the Jensen Lot on South Colonial Road, and that the sum of $740.00 or any other sum be raised and appropriated for original construction of South Colonial Road and that betterment assessments be levied in accordance with the provision of Chapter 80 of the General Laws, or take any other action relative thereto.

To see if the Town will vote to accept as a public way the street now known as East Colonial Road as shown on plan of land in Wilbraham entitled "Colonial Acres" as surveyed by Merrill & Sears, Civil Engineers, dated February 7, 1952, beginning at the south easterly corner of Lot No. 80 now owned by Philip M. and Sally D. Barnhart, and running northerly for a distance of ap- proximately 689 feet and that the sum of $760.00 or any other sum be raised and appropriated for original construc- tion of East Colonial Road and that betterment assessments be levied in accordance with the provision of Chapter 80 of the General Laws, or take any other action relative there- to.

To see if the Town will vote to accept that portion of Manchonis Road, now a private way, as shown on plan of Boyle Realty Company - Section E & H, Lake Shores, Phillips, Dudley & Sullivan, Surveyors, being the extension of Manchonis Road, running in a westerly direc- tion for a distance of 750 feet more or less, and that the sum of $862.50 or any other sum be raised and appropri- ated for original construction of said portion of Manchonis Road, and that betterment assessments be levied in accord- ance with the provisions of Chapter 80 of the General Laws, or take any other action relative thereto.

ARTICLE 42. To see if the Town will vote to accept as a public way the street now known as Brookside Road (for- merly known as Brookside extension), as shown on a sub- division plan of "Colonial Acres", as surveyed by Merrill & Sears, Civil Engineers, dated November 19, 1951, begin- ning at the intersection on the southerly side of Springfield Road at a point on the northwesterly corner Lot #103 owned by Whyte and Wadsworth and running southerly 525 feet more or less to Brookside Drive at a point at the southwesterly corner of Lot #101 known as the J. B. Emer- son lot, and that the sum of $580.00 or any other sum be raised and appropriated for original construction of Brook- side Road and that betterment assessments be levied in accordance with the provision of Chapter 80 of the General Laws, or take any other action relative thereto.

ARTICLE 43. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Town by-laws so as to provide for the election of a School Committee of five members instead of three members, or take any other action relative thereto.


ARTICLE 44. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $750.00 or any sum to resurface existing sidewalks near the Memorial and Pines Schools, or take any other action relative thereto.

ARTICLE 45. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $250.00 or any sum to be expended by the Highway Department for the purchase of weed or brush killer, and to give it to such citizens of the Town as will effectively use it for the control of poison ivy along the highways and on private properties, under the supervision of a civic organization.

ARTICLE 46. To see if the Town will vote to create a special unpaid committee to be known as a Regional school district planning committee. to consist of three members, including one member of the school committee to be ap- pointed by the moderator from within the personnel of the existing school survey committee in accordance with pro- visions of Section 14 of Chapter 71 of the General Laws.


ARTICLE 47. To transact such other business as may properly come before said meeting.


And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies thereof, one at the Post Office at Wilbraham, one at the Post Office at North Wilbraham, and one at Glendale Church, seven days at least, before the time for holding said meeting.
