ARTICLE 35. Voted unanimously to accept as a public way the private way now known as Bradlind Avenue, as shown on a plan known as "Bradlind" as laid out by John T. ARTICLE 39. Voted unanimously to accept as a public way the private way known as Brookmont Drive, as shown on a sub- division plan drawn by Engineer John T. Casey, filed and ap- proved by the Wilbraham Planning Board on July 20, 1955, beginning at Main Street and running easterly for a distance of 2,939.33 feet more or less.
ARTICLE 40. Voted unanimously to accept as a public way the private way known as Meadow View Road, as shown on subdivision plan drawn by Smith and Wallen, Engineers, dated March 1955, beginning at Soule Road and running southerly for a distance of 1,617 feet more or less.
ARTICLES 41, 42 AND 43. Voted unanimously to postpone action on these Articles until such time as the Civic Survey Com- mittee on Street Lights makes its recommendation to the Select- men.
ARTICLE 44. Voted unanimously that all appropriations made at this meeting, unless otherwise provided for, be raised by assess- ment against the polls, personal properties and real estate of the Town.
During the meeting Mr. Hintze asked the townspeople to show (by a rising vote) their opinion regarding issuance of a liquor license.
The gold-headed cane, which is awarded to the oldest inhabi- tant of Wilbraham, will be given this year to Mrs. Swind, who is 95.
Mr. Hintze proposed a rising vote of thanks to Mr. Auchter, who is retiring this year, in recognition of his outstanding service to the Town of Wilbraham during the past fifteen years.
Mr. J. Loring Brooks read a resolution, unanimously accepted, to express appreciation of the townspeople and pay tribute to Carl Nelson, retiring as Selectman; Frank Auchter, retiring as Moderator, and Walter Berry, retiring as Town Clerk, for their

outstanding service rendered the Town of Wilbraham over a period of years; instructing the Town Clerk to send a copy of said resolution to each of the persons named.
Mr. Auchter spoke of "the feeling of friendship, - not merely that between a voter and the presiding moderator. I thank you for that, and I appreciate your cooperation at these meetings, which I hope you have enjoyed as much as I have. Let me ask that you give the same fine cooperation and same support to Mr. Furnans, who in all probability will succeed me. I am sure he will appreciate it."
A unanimous vote was made to close the polls at 6:30 p. m. on March 16, 1957.
A unanimous vote adjourned the meeting at approximately 5:00 p. m.

In accordance with the warrant as posted, the voters of the Town assembled in the Wilbraham Memorial School Auditorium, Wilbraham.
The following were sworn in by Town Clerk Doris G. Coch- ran: Anna Tupper, Filomena Gilbert, Theresa Boden and June Rice.
The meeting was called to order by Moderator Ernest W. Fur- nans, Jr., at 8:00 p. m.
The following tellers were appointed and sworn in by the Moderator: Leo E. Kuehn, Howard C. Bogue, Mansfield W. Williams, Stanley W. Opalinski, and Allan R. Kinney.

ARTICLE 4. Voted by a majority to appropriate and transfer from unappropriated available funds in the treasury the sum of $2,210.00 to lay 700 feet of six inch water main on Decorie Drive.

Voted unanimously to accept a bequest of ten shares of the stock of American Telephone and Telegraph Com- pany under the will and codicil of Ethelbert Bliss, deceased, for the care of the Albert Ethelbert, Walter and Dudley Bliss Fam- ily lots in the Adams Cemetery, in accordance with the authority given by the General Laws, Chapter 114, Section 25, and a decree of the Probate Court for Hampden County dated June 8, 1954.
ARTICLE 8. Voted unanimously that all appropriations made at this meeting, unless otherwise provided for, be raised by assess- ment against the polls, personal properties and real estate of the Town.
It was unanimous that a vote of appreciation be offered to the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional District School Committee for their work on this committee.
A unanimous vote adjourned the meeting at 11:00 p. m.

During the past year the Selectmen conducted a contest which was supervised by Miss Tower, art teacher, for a cover design for our Annual Town Report. The first prize entry is shown on the cover of this Report and was drawn by Ann Googins. The second and third prize entries are shown above and were drawn by Stanley Johnson and Carl Orton. The Board certainly appreciates the response by the students of the Wilbraham School system and the untiring efforts of our art teacher in supervising the contest.
