School Report
To the Superintending School Committee of the town of Hartford :-
GENTLEMEN :- I herewith submit to you and the citizens of Hart- ford the school report for the year ending Feb. 11, 1910. We have completed a school year of twenty-nine weeks. I hope we may have no shorter school year in 1910. Thirty weeks of school with a six- hour school day is the same as the city school year of thirty-six weeks with a five-hour school day. Therefore we have given the scholars of Hartford for the past year almost as many school hours as the city schools afford.
We shall receive more money next year from the State, so that six hundred dollars ($600.00) from the town of Hartford should, with this year's balance, give us sufficient common school money for next year.
We have ordered flag poles for all of the schools, so that the stars and stripes may float above the heads of all our pupils in 1910.
In conclusion, I wish to thank the members of the School Board for their help and advice during the year; the teachers and pupils for their support and co-operation, and the citizens for their help and kind words of appreciation. With your hearty support in the year to come we hope to make some improvement.
Respectfully Submitted,
ISAAC A. SMITH, Superintendent.
