Two excellent twelve inch globes have been placed in the schools, new language books have been introduced in the schools where they were not provided last year, new flags have been placed on the school houses in the Union, Tyler Corner, and Center districts, book covers have been provided for the new books. For many obvious reasons our rural schools should be consolidated. In accordance with this two of the smaller schools have been closed during the vear. Later on, if it seems advisable a plan will be presented whereby all or nearly all of our schools can be combined.

Among the improvments to be undertaken the next year are the following :-

New geographies should be bought for all of the schools. Several of the schools should be supplied with new diction- aries. At least one more globe should be bought, and two of the school houses should be repainted.

In conclusion I wish to thank the members of the school board for your help and advice and for the interest shown in all school matters presented. My thanks are also due to the teachers and pupils for their hard and conscientious work. To the citizens my thanks are extended for your many kind words and deeds, and the interest you have shown in the schools.

Respectfully submitted,

MERLE A. STURTEVANT, Superintendent
