Lane, dau. of Moses W. and Malinda (Knowles) Lane, of Corinna. They were m. in Lowell, Me. They settled first in Half-Township; then purchased the Warren House in Trans Alpine. He d. at the age of 76 years and 10 months.

1. TRISTRAM WARREN, a soldier in the French and Indian War; m. Mary Neal. They came to Bucktown from Berwick after Jan. 1, 1784. They had nine children, all of whom were born before they came to Bucktown; John, the oldest one, came there and settled before his parents came. John Warren was b. 20 May, 1756; m. Elizabeth Buck. He d. 4 June, 1807. They had 10 children. John, Jr., the 2nd one, b. 11 Nov., 1783; m. Esther Buck. They had nine children. Esther, b. 25 Oct., 1782, dau. of John and Abigail Buck.


2. JOHN WARREN, 3rd, 2nd son of John, Jr., and his wife, Esther, was b. 22 July, 1807; m. Nancy Coburn, dau. of Silas and Joan Co- burn. He came to Lincoln in 1830. He cleared a farm in Trans Al- pine, known as the Swinburn farm and built the buildings there; these buildings were destroyed by fire and rebuilt. John and his wife after- wards went to live with their youngest son, J. S. Warren. She d. there, 16 June, 1879.

1. HANFORD WILSON, b. Sussex, N. B., Feb. 3, 1875; d. 27 Feb., 1950. Son of the late Robert and Fannie Wilson; m. Mrs. Nettie Run- nells. They purchased the Yelland Place from Albert Cole, and lived there several years. Later they sold out to Ard Edwards and moved to North Lincoln, where she d. 9 Sept., 1944. Her dau., Edna Run- nells, is now a teacher in the Lincoln schools. She m. 26 Oct., 1925, Stanley Leroy Buzzell, b. 1895 in Lincoln. Her son, John Wesley Runnells, is in the Real Estate business in Saco, Maine.

8. 1-Margaret, graduated from Mattanawcook Academy and took a four years' course at Farmington Normal School. She has been selected as Assistant Home Economics Di- rector in the Rockland schools. In 1947 she m. Wil- liam Kane of Sebasco; he had served five years in the Army. He is now stationed in Japan.


YELLAND


1. FRANCIS YELLAND, son of John Yelland, was b. in St. Stevens, Cornwall County, England, in 1823. At the age of 22 he came to America, leaving Liverpool Apr. 12, 1845, he arrived in Boston in 35 days. He soon procured work, as he was a good mechanic. He m. Catherine, dau. of Henry Yelland, in May 1846. She had come over here with her sister two years before. She was from Truro, England. They first settled in Chelsea, Mass .; the next year they came to Trans Alpine and bought some land for a farm, below the Peter Coburn Place; that fall they went back to Mass., and he worked at his trade, painting, until 1860, when they returned to T. A. and bought the Peter Coburn farm and lived there until his death in 1885. Mr. Yelland was a poet; he published a book of poems: "The Exile's Lay and Other Poems." Mrs. Yelland spent the last years of her life with her dau., Mrs. Albert Phinney, in Lincoln Village. They were very nice peo- ple and were greatly missed when they left the neighborhood. He d. in 1885 at the age of 61. She d. in 1906 at the age of 86.
