Owing to increased cost of materials, fuel and supplies we shall need for proper expenses for the two libraries the sum of $1,000.00. Part of this amount will be necessary for settlement of bills incurred during 1918. We would, therefore, respect- fully recommend that including the amount required by law the total amount of one thousand dollars be appropriated, four- sevenths of which shall be expended for the benefit of the Lisbon Library, and three-sevenths for Sugar Hill Branch.

Number of non-fiction loaned, 350
Number of periodicals loaned, 1,821 Attendance, 1,501
The attendance has been very good the past year, but few paid books have been put out, as people's time and money have been used in Red Cross work.
Mrs. Richardson had the building painted three coats out- side, also the reading room redecorated.
The library was closed eleven days on account of influenza.
Our circulation was less this year, owing to the fact that we have had no new books.
Lisbon in its branch library at Sugar Hill has one of the best as well as beautiful small Libraries in the state. Let us hope that it may be maintained in a manner worthy of the generos- ity which made it possible.
Respectfully submitted,
JERUSHA ELIZABETH PARKER, Librarian. Feb. 21, 1919.
