REPORT OF SCHOOL BOARD

To our townspeople interested in district affairs, the following report is respectfully submitted.

During the year covered by this report the Village and East Hebron schools have each been maintained thirty-two weeks. There is in the hands of the treasurer a sum sufficient to meet expenditures till money from the 1913 assessment may be available.

These conditions are owing largely to aid received from the state. We hope the District will appropriate at its annual meeting an amount which will again entitle it to State Aid. To accomplish this, it is necessary that the amount of money raised by taxation for school purposes be at least $711.52.

The larger number of our pupils attending high schools or similar institutions expect to complete their courses the coming June. As the money required for tuition is thus lessened, could not the amount for the home schools be in- creased accordingly ?

Surely the education of the children, the men and women of tomorrow, is as worthy an object as improved highways.

Only three pupils, Leslie, Dorothy and Elizabeth Jones of the East Hebron school, have a record of perfect attendance for the year.

We respectfully request the selectmen to assess the following items for the coming year:

18

Money for High school tuition to the amount of $120 00 Money for text books and scholars supplies to the amount of 50 00

REPORT OF SCHOOL BOARD

In making our annual report for the ensuing year, we think we can report as favorably as in the past.

The school at the village was taught by Miss Helen Sibley the entire year. The spring term at East Hebron was taught by Miss Geneva Wheet and the fall and win-, ter terms by Miss Genevieve Winott.

The East Hebron school was maintained three extra weeks, which completed a fund that was given several years ago.

The city people in East Hebron contributed a sum of $16 which was used for furnishings in the East Hebron school. We wish to express our thanks for this sum.

In order to entitle the district to State Aid, the dis- trict must raise by taxation $887.

We respectfully request the selectmen to assess the following item for the coming year :
