W. G. FOGG, Treasurer. Canaan, Feb. 15, 1897.

Board of Health.

The Board of Health begs to submit the following :

A few cases of contagious diseases as Measles, Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria and Typhoid Fever, have been reported and by prompt action, confined to the house where originated and to one patient, with the exception of Typhoid fever at West Canaan, where two cases were reported in the same house.

The board have attended all cases reported to them, and abat- ed all nuisances coming to their knowledge, and feel that all should be thankful that the town has been during the year, and is now in a remarkably good sanitary condition.

We recommend that the stream running a part of the year, south of Bennett's, Eastman's, Henderson's, Bucklin's and Rand's dwelling houses, be either covered or run across the Bal- lard farm, to the river, for the better protection of the health of those living so near it as they do.

For the Board,

E. M. TUCKER, Secretary.
