ABSTRACT OF BUSINESS TRANSACTED AT THE ANNUAL AND ADJOURNED TOWN MEETINGS MARCH 8 AND APRIL 19, 1921
Officers elected: Town Clerk, John G. Townsend; Selectman for one year, Edward C. Boynton; Selectman for two years, William F. Coolidge; Selectman for three years, Peter E. Hogan; Town Treasurer, John G. Town- send; Highway Agents, Walter H. Clark, Wilbur E. Webster and George J. Cournoyer; Water Commissioner for three years, Edward C. Boynton; Overseer of Poor, Glenn A. Hunt; Chief Engineer of Fire Department, Julius H. Parrott; Chief of Police, Jeremiah J. Mahoney; Tax Collector, Samuel H. Mower; Commissioner of Hum- iston Park, Henry J. Becker; Trustee of Trust Funds for three years, Alfred Sawyer; Auditors, Frank H. Bald- win, Edward L. Fay and Bowman F. Cann.
Voted that the remaining officers be appointed by the Selectmen.
Voted that the next town reports contain a list of names of those who have not paid their taxes.
Voted that the Firemen be given a salary or bonus of $5.00 a year, with seventy-five cents an hour for all services and 6 practice meetings during the year.
Voted that the town accept from the Jaffrey Devel- opment Co., as highways, the rights of way shown on plans of said Company, on file in plan book No. 2, Pages 17, 30 and 40 of the Cheshire Registry and known as fol- lows: Oak Street, Brook Street, Pine Street, Maple Street, Short Street, Grove Street, Birch Street and Juni- per Street.

Voted to pass over Art. 7. (Electric Light contract,) Voted to raise and appropriate Six Hundred Dollars to aid in the maintenance of a District Nurse.

Voted to pass over Art. 9. (Sprinkling streets.)
Voted that the Selectmen be authorized to pay all bills incurred by the highway department previous to Jan. 31, 1921, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
Voted to raise and appropriate $150.00 to be paid the East Jaffrey Cornet Band for a series of concerts to be given during the season of 1921, two to be given in Jaf- frey Centre, one in July and one in August.
Voted that the Selectmen be authorized to issue bonds of the town, upon the most favorable terms, to the amount of Eight Thousand Dollars, the proceeds thereof to be used to pay the excess expenditures of the highway department for the year ending Jan. 31, 1921, and completing project 95; said bonds to be issued serially, and to be paid at the rate of two thousand dol- lars per year, beginning Jan. 1, 1923.
Voted that the town raise and appropriate $200.00, and the Road Agent take from the highway money not more than a like sum to fix the highway by the old Poor Farm.
Voted that the town raise and appropriate $300.00 for the purpose of patrol work on a section of the Con- toocook Valley Highway.
Voted that the town raise and appropriate $700.00 for State Aid Maintenance on road from Jaffrey to East Jaffrey.
Voted to raise and appropriate $325.00 for trunk line maintenance.
Voted to pass over Art. 17, (application for State aid permanent highways.)
Voted that the town appropriate $2,000.00 to finish highway project No. ,95 and that the Selectmen pay for same out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
Voted to accept the sum of One Hundred Dollars, in trust, for the care of the John E. Baldwin lot in the Cutter Cemetery. The income to be used wholly for the care of said lot.
Voted to adjourn.
