Eleven books have been purchased. Mrs. Emily Z. Mark has presented the library with eight books. Mrs. Julia Patridge of East Alstead, a native of Gilsum, has given "The Crown Encyclopedia," in six volumes. "Ham- mond Genealogies," in two volumes, given by the author, Frank S. Hammond. "The History of the Telephone," given by the publishers. Magazines were given by Mrs. Etta Gleason and Mrs. Ida Caldwell.
The library now numbers 1424 catalogued books, exclusive of reports, pamphlets, etc.

Gentlemen :- Your board of health submits the follow- ing report for the current year :
Several cases of the measles and whooping cough were reported in the spring. Prompt action was taken at once to prevent the spread of the measles and whooping cough. Also complaints have been made of unsanitary conditions which have been investigated, advice was given and it is hoped they will profit by it.
