Four gallons of oil remain on hand for future use.
When the company took out the fire engine in the spring, I found it leaked. Upon examination I found a leak in the tank which was no doubt caused by allowing the water to freeze up, the crack was nearly a foot in length and spread more than a fourth of an inch. The cost of repairs of same was nearly twenty dollars. A year ago the pipe leading to the water tank froze up, and when it thawed out I found it was burst and so clogged up with sediment that the water came very slow. I have lowered the pipe from the tank to a point nearly west of the north corner of the town hall, nearly a foot, at a cost of about fifty dollars. I think it has cost at least twelve dollars to clear out the wells and get the sediment out of the pipe so as to keep the water running. I think that the interest of the town would be promoted by getting a new source of water. I would recommend that the town instruct the selectmen to choose a committee to negotiate with Mary A. Hammond or Elmer D. Banks for the right to dig wells and lay pipe near the brook below the gorge, and report at the town meeting in the coming fall.
WM. A. WILDER, Chief Fireward.

REPORT OF SCHOOL BOARD.
The whole number of scholars by enumeration Septem- ber, 1907, was 89 between the ages of five and sixteen.
Three schools have been maintaind with three terms each. The whole number of scholars attending according to register, 80. Of this number, 45 were girls and 35 boys.
Miss Alice Adams, spring term, and Miss H. S. Far- well in the grammar room, and Miss Mason in the pri- mary are teachers of large experience, and performed a good work by arranging the pupils into grades where they belonged, thus making fewer classes and having more time to devote to each.
The West school taught by Miss Sara Holland, spring term, and Miss Kathryn Wood, fall and winter, showed good results.
