REPORT OF LIBRARIAN.


Since taking charge of the library, May 1, 1909, it has been opened, and some one in attendance during the regular hours, except on Christmas night, when it was closed at 8 o'clock instead of 9 p. m.


The town has purchased 30 new books, and 6 have been given by different persons, exclusive of reports. Through the kindness of a former resident, the library is also furnished with Christian Science literature. Thirty- four new books were added last year, with the appropria- tion for 1908, the catalogued books now numbering 1402.

Scarlet fever was reported as existing in two families. In each case the infected premises were promptly quaran- tined, and at the proper time fumigated.
