JOHN WHEELER, youngest of the eight children of Moses 17, b. in Charlestown, Oct. 31. 1768. m. 1788, pub. in Charlestown, Sept. 21, 1788, Hannah Thurston, dau. of Moses and Hannah (Sewall) Thurston of Hollis. The births of all the children of Moses Thurston are not recorded. It is probable the first Hannah died young, and Hannah, second, was the youngest child. Shua Thurston, a sister of Hannah, was the wife of Andrew Savage Crocker of Haverhill. John Wheeler settled in this town at the time of his marriage. He was a selectman six years, beginning 1790. He removed about 1800 from L. to Northern Vermont and a few years later to Ohio.

vii. ROYAL TYLER. b. 1810. He was admitted to the Bar in Ohio in 1837. Ile m. Emily Walker, and after a short stay in Arkansas he located in 1839 at Nacogdoches, Texas. He was an eminent lawyer, and was ten years Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Texas. In December, 1857, he was appointed Chief Justice, which position he held with distinction until his death in 1864. His home in the later years was at Austin and Galveston, Texas.
