This House was established in 1849, since which time its success has been uninterrupted, each vear increasing its amount of business. Their annual sales amount to the enor- mous sum of near $1.500,000, their trade extending from the Eastern portions of the State to the " Far West." Occupying. as they do, fully 40.000) feet of flooring in actual business departments, every por- tion of which is crowded with immense piles of Goods from foreign countries, as well as of domestic manufacture, render- ing the facilities of this House for Jobbing equal to any in the country, making it the largest establishment of the kind in the State. The firm are also the proprie- istors of the "Genesee Falls Woolen Mills," where they manufacture 100,000 yards of goods annually.


Glen & Hall Manufacturing Co., of Rochester, manufacture superior Threshing Machines. Horse Powers and other Agricultural Implements. Their Works have been established more than !" years, during which time they have sapplied machines to many thousand mistomers in all parts of the country. Smith & Cady, general Insurance, Real Estate and Loan Agents, at James- town, have been long in business. Banner Printing House .- This Printing Office is situated in Dunkirk ou East Third Street, three blocks west of the Depot, and is in every respect a first- class Job Printing Office. The type is all new. and of the latest styles, and a Gor- don Press (see engraving in advertise- ment opp. page 215.) is now in use in the office, and is considered by city printers to be the best and fastest press now in use. Proprietors of Printing Offices, when using the Gordon Press, can do work in at least one-third less time and for at least one-third less price than when using any other Press now manu- factured. As the Banner is supplied with one of the above named Presses, and the proprietor, Mr. J. M. Lake, is a prac- tical printer himself, and keeping none but first-class workmen, no newspaper to eat up the profits of Job Printing, and no rent to pay, he must certainly be well prepared to please bis patrons by fur- nishing good work at low prices. Mer- chants and business men throughout the county, as well as those in Dunkirk, will find it to their interest to call on or write to the proprietor when in want of any- thing in the line of Printing.


W. C. Harris, dealer in fine Watches, Jewelry &c., at Westfield. ad- vertises on page 363. His stock is the best in this part of the county, and com- prises Silver and Plated Ware. and Fancy Goods generally. Mr. Harris is an expert Watch Maker and can easily trim up a tired or lazy watch and make it work to time.


F. D. Ellis, Furniture dealer and Undertaker, at Forestville, keeps a full stock of stylish goods on hand, and sells at fair living prices. He will attend Funerals and furnish everything roquired in the Undertaking department. We refer the reader to his advertisement on page 368.


Johnson & Bros., at Jamestown. make the wherewith to shut out the cold from your houses. Their Sash, Doors, Blinds &c., are reliable, are made from the best of timber and are well put to- gether. They are prepared to fil all orders from mechanics or others. See card on page 352.


H. E. Butler is a dealer in Boots and Shoes, at Jamestown. There was a row near his store one day, the principal incidents of which are illustrated in the picture on page 352. The advice of the gentleman to the seedy looking stranger was followed, and he left a happier man.


Jno. W. Pitts, the well known Wholesale and Retail'denler in Groceries, Provisions. Crockery &e., at No. 38 Main St., Jamestown, has long been one of the prominent merchants of the village.
