Syracuse University Library
Hirstory and Purpose. The library was founded in 1870 primarily, for the use of the faculty and students of the University. There is no special fleld of interest insofar as manu- scripts are concerned. Gifts are ac- cepted and purchases may be made; sale, exchange and acceptance of conditional deposits depend upon the manuscripts and the restrictions. The library is a four-story, fireproof, brick building, constructed in 1905-7. Space is at present adequate but there is no planned storage for addi- tional accessions. The building serves also as the School of Library Science.
