MERCANTILR COLLEGE OPEN DAY AND EVENING, 74 Fourth Street, between Walnut & Vine, CINCINNATI, OHIO.
The object of this Institution is to afford young men an opportunity of qualifying themselves theoreticalty and practically for the duties of the Counting House.
The Course of instruction embraces Double Entry Book Keeping, and its various applications to trade, viz : Wholesale, Retail, Steamboating, Manufacturing, Ship- ping, Commission, Individual, Compound, Company and Railroad Business. Also, LECTURES ou Commercial Law, Commercial Calculations and Practical Penmanship.
Applicants can enter the Institution at any time, and at- tend from 8 A. M. to 9 P. M. It takes from 8 to 12 weeks to finish a full Course.
Students are instructed individually by Illustrations of Business Transactions, independent of a printed book.
The science is thus so completely reduced to system, that Students, on leaving the College, will be able to take charge of and conduct, upon scientific principles, any set of Double Entry Books.
Ladies instructed in separate apartments, prepared rx- pressly for the purpose, in every branch of Mercantile Sci- ence, and thoroughly fitted to keep the books of any es- tablishment, however extensive aud complicated the bu- siness may be.
Also, Night Classes formed at the Preparatory Rooms, for Writing, Arithmetic, Grammar, Composition and Drawing.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED .-- Any one will be received into this Institution who posesses a good Common " chool education, even though they ha ve never studied Arithme- tic, beyond Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Di. vision. (If entirely deficient in Arithmetic, this will be taught free of charge.)
