HOUSE OF REFUGE.
EAST SIDE OF THE CUMMINSVILLE ROAD, ABOUT THREE-FOURTHS OF A MILE NORTH OF THE CORPORATION LINE.
Among the charitable and reformatory insti- tutions of the city, none should hold a higher place in the.estimation of citizens than the House of Refuge ; for no one of them is better adapted to secure its future happiness and pros- perity. The building up and supporting a place where the thousands of vagrant boys and girls, who rove about the streets-the future pests and criminals of society -- can be taken, educated morally and intellectually, and trained to habits of industry, is a noble object.
Citizens may essentially, though indirectly, aid this object, by making it a point to furnish themselves with such articles as are manufac- tured by the inmates, from the store of the In- stitution, No. 2 College Building, Walnut street, between Fourth and Fifth.
