Mr. Daniel Parke Custis was this day Sworn a Vestryman, & took the Oaths appointed by Law instead of the Oaths of Allegi- ance & Supremacy before Maj'r Joseph Forster, one of his Ma'- ties' Justices of the Peace for this County & Subscribed the Test.


Whereas, the Minister & Vestry of this Parish have Agreed with Mr. Wm. Worthe, of the Parish of St. Paul, in the County of Stafford, Builder, to Erect & Build a Steeple & Vestry Room according to a Plan Delivered into the Vestry drawn by the S'd Walter for the Consideration of One hundred & thirty Pounds at times to be paid.


Ordered that the Church wardens in Company with Maj'r Jos- eph Foster & Maj'r John Dandridge do meet at some convenient time to Execute mutual Bonds between the Church wardens, w'ch said matter together with his Security the Rev'd for the performance of the Contract.


That all the male Tithables belonging to Wm. Grey, Gent., & the like belonging to Capt. John Derritour & at his own house, John Ross * Martin & Largison be added to the Gang belonging to Wm. Easley.

Poll. on 1063 Tithables, w'ch Sd Sume of Tobo Mr. Julius Burbige is impowered to col- lect From Every Tithable Person in this Parish, Provided the Sd Burbidge Enters into Bond with Security to the Vestry for Per- formance of the Same. Mr. Julius Burbidge has offered to give Bond with his Securityes. Maj'r Jos. Foster & Maj'r Jn. Dand- ridge, who are approved by the Vestry for his Performance of the Collection & has given Bond Accordingly.

Pursuant to an Order of Vestry made the 24th of September last, that the Clerk give Notice to Capt. William Massie that he is chosen Vestryman in the place of Mr. David Patteson, who has resigned, & that he Appear at the next Vestry to take the Oathes required by Law to Execute the Office of a Vestryman, & Capt. Massie appearing Accordingly was this Day Sworn be- fore Coll. Wm. Macon & Coll. Daniel Parke Custis, two of his Ma'ties' Justices of the Peace for the County of New Kent, & after Capt. Massie was Sworn the Vestry Proceeded to appoint the Severall Persons to Procession the Lands as the Law Requires, & Ordered them to be Recorded in the Processioning Book.


Ordered that Major Foster's hands be added to Wm Moor's Levy.


That George Walton's hands, Judith Waddell's hands, Wm. Moor's hands & Stephen Broker, be added to Noel Waddill's Levy.


That the Vestry of St. Peter's Parish or any Seven of them meet at the Glebe at ten of the clock in the Forenoon the 5th Day of December next, (if Fair), if not, the next Fair Day, & treat with any Persons For a Sufficient Quantity of Land to make the said Glebe Legall.


That the Fines now in the hands of the Church Wardens be Distributed among the Poor of the Parish at this time instead of Easter Tuesday at the Discretion of the Church Wardens, & that when Distributed, att the next Vestry they Account to whom the Same so Disposed.
