An important incorporated city on the Oregon Short Line in Lincoln county, the railroad center of a large mining distriet with a large payroll. Lincoln county has enormous tracts of the best coal lands, and contains one of the greatest stock ranges in the west. Many train loads of sheep and cattle are shipped from Lincoln county each year. Coal mining is the principal industry, a superior quality of semi-bituminous coal be- ing mined here. Kemmerer was located in September. 1897. since which time it has enjoyed a rapid growth, which by no means is at an end. Located on Hams Fork. a beautiful stream, with elegant schools, several fine churches, two of the best banks in Wyoming, several hotels of the finest, two live newspapers. a planing mill, .' several large coal mines and many other industries of value and importance. A distributing point and com- mands a large patronage from ranch and stock men of the upper Green River valley extending north for one hundred and fifty miles. The business firms whose names appear herein are leading, most reliable and re- sponsible in their respective lines, and will answer any inquiry truthfully and promptly relative to the city and county.
