No. 320 POST STREET, SAN FRANCISCO.

THE LEADING COMMERCIAL COLLEGE ON THE COAST!

Elegant Halls ; New Furniture ; Thorough Instruction ; Practical Teachers ; Perfect Discipline; Large Number of Students ; Iligh Standing with the Public.

This is the oldest College in San Francisco that makes a Business Education its distinct and separate specialty. Its graduates who hold lucrative and responsible positions are more numer- ous than those from all the other Business Colleges on the Coast. It is the only College that issues LIFE SCHOLARSHIPS for a full Business Course. It is eentrally located, on Post Street, opposite Union Square, in one of the most quiet and pleasant situations in the eity. It has the most commodious and elegantly furnished halls, and the most eomplete systeni of actual business training.

YOUNG AND MIDDLE-AGED MEN,

Wishing to prepare themselves for the practical duties of life, at the least expense of time and money, will find this the best school. Students learn just what they need to insure success. A DIPLOMA from this College is of great value to a young man in gaining a foothold in business. No young or middle-aged man is now considered fully qualified for the active duties of life, and the demands of business, unless he enjoys the advantages of a thorough commereial education. A course of commercial training is no less important to the mechanic, the farmer and the manufacturer, than to the merchant and banker.

THE BUSINESS COURSE.

The Business Course is far inore thorough and extensive than that of any other Business Col- lege. Our practical system of ACTUAL BUSINESS TEACHING is the best ever introduced into any school. It combines

THEORY AND PRACTICE

In such a manner as to make each an essential help to the other, and the School-room and Counting-room are united upon a plan that secures to the student all the practical advantages of each. There is in active operation a Banking House with Checks, Drafts, Notes, Bills of Exchange, Certificates of Deposit, etc., fu ly illustrating the Banking business.

The student Buys, Sells, Ships, Barters, Consigns, Discounts, Insures, Draus Checks, Notes and Drafts, Gives Leases, Deeds, etc., and goes through the entire routine of actual business. He be- comes acquainted with changing books from Single to Double Entry, and vice versa ; and also with Joint Stock and Partnership Books, and every style and form of book-keeping practired in well- regulated Business Houses. By this system the student receives, while in the school, the sanie practice in conducting business affairs that he would in a bona fide Bank. Office, or Counting-house. Each student receives individual attention from the teachers, and can thus advance as rapidly as his ability will permit.

SPECIAL INFORMATION.

TIME OF ENTERING-There are no term divisions and no vacations. Students can enter at any time during the year with equal advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTERING .- A fair knowledge of the common English branches is all that is required to commence the Business Course, though the better the educational foundation a student has the more rapid and successful his progress. Students not sufficiently advanced to commence the Business Course, can make arrangements to receive the necessary preparatory in- struction in the ACADEMICAL DEPARTMENT.

SCHOOL HOURS .- Day Sessions are from 9 to 12 A. M. and from 1 to 4 P. M. Evening Sessions are from 7 to 9 during the entire year.

DISCIPLINE. - The discipline of all the departments is very strict ; the student is required to be regular in attendance, earnest in his application to study, and kind, courteous and dignified in his deportment to teachers and associate students.

VISITORS .- Visitors are always welcome-and especially the parents and friends .^ students and the friends of education. The best time, usually, to see the working of the different depart- ments, is from 10 to 12 A. M., but there is no hour during the daily exercises when visitors will not receive proper attention.

THE PACIFIC BUSINESS COLLEGE REVIEW,

Published by the College, contains full particulars regarding the Courses of Instruction, Expenses etc ; also a large amount of interesting reading. It may he had, free of charge, either at the College office, 320 Post Street, opposite Union Square, or by addressing
