SOUTH PUEBLO.


A town on the south side of the Arkansas, in Pueblo county. Daily mail and express. Denver & Rio Grand R. R., and termi- nus of Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe R. R. Western Union Tel- egraph line. Population 800. This town was laid out in Nov., 1872, by the Central Colorado Improvement Co. A large trade centers here, extending to the San Juan and Hardscrabble mines, as well as to the rich intervening farm country and set- tlements. The river at South Pueblo is crossed by three pas- senger bridges.


The Grand Central is the leading hotel, and one of the best in Colorado. Mr. Strait, the proprietor, is constantly making improvements, that add to the comfort of guests. He is a whole- souled gentleman, and popular with all who have occasion to patronize the house. The table, beds, etc., are excellent, and prices very reasonable. Be sure and go to the Grand Central.
