Vale College-The public Commencement is held on the Thursday after the last Wednesday in June. The first term begins

All matter not prepaid at letter rates must be so wrapped that it can be examined with- out destroying the wrapper, and must not contain any writing whatever, inside or out- side, except the address ; but samples may be numbered to correspond with the numbers in a descriptive letter, and a business card may be printed, impressed, or pasted (if prisnted on wrappers. Liquids, poisons, explosives, and other dangerous matter, are excluded.
REGISTERED LETTERS.
Valuable letters should invariably be taken to the post office and registered. The registra- tion fees are, within the I'nited States, fifteen cents ; to Canada, five cents ; to foreign coun- tries, eight to fifteen cents.

The issue to a single applicant, in one day, of more than three orders, payable at the same office and to the same payee, is positively for- bidden.
The applicant must, in all cases, write his own given name and surname in full. When the given name of the payee is known, it should also be stated in full ; otherwise, initials may be used. The given names of married women must be stated, and not those of their husbands. For example : Mrs. Mary Brown must not be described as Mrs. William Brown.
