Buckles for permanent chairman, P. J. Clevenger for secretary and Frank Un- kerfer for assistant secretary.
The committee on resolutions reported the following platform which was adopted:
Resolved that we commend to the patriotic and just consideration of the citizens of Kansas the business like and pure official acts of our present state officials. And we point with pride and the greatest satisfaction to the official conduct of our esteemed fellow citizen, Gov. E. N. Mor- rill and sympathize with him in his noble and untiring efforts to purify the management of our great charitable, educational and reformatory institutions, to the end that the greatest good may be accomplished by such institutions with the least expenditure of the people's money.
We arraign the Demo-Populist party for their corrupt thieving and disgraceful methods in conducting the affairs of the penal, charitable and other public institutions of our state to such an extent that when weighed in the balance for honor and integrity they have universally been found wanting, and true to their vicious instinct this so called, middle of the road reform party have in every instance followed the advice of their leader and mouth organ, Mrs. Col. Mary Lease, in raising more hell and less corn.
The resolutions were adopted but later the clause refering to Mrs. Lease was reconsidered and stricken out.
