Upon admission to the bar I commenced practising law. Strange but true, my clients have tolerated this practice session. Inasmuch as "patience is a virtue", and "virtue though in rags, will keep one warm", I've become patient and adopted a platform of "plain living and high thinking" and thus hope to "bear up and steer right on- ward."

so. My daily life is a quiet one in comparison to a few years ago, but I manage to get considerable pleasure just the same. I pursue my hobbies when time allows. Botanizing and gardening come first, when weather permits. In winter I read and delve into local his- tory, and enjoy music although I no longer play at it. Our local glee club is conducted by a former Harvard Glee Club man. Any- one who cares to hear more is invited to communicate with yours truly.

WILLIAM ALFRED SPURR

Mailing Address: 7 Edgewood Pk., New Rochelle, N. Y. Occupation: Manufacturing.

The sixth year of the depression finds me still economizing as as- sistant to the economist of the Western Electric Company in New York. I am also working toward a Ph.D. at Columbia. My chief outing was a canoe trip to Hudson Bay in 1933. The reunion will be the scene of my last fling at freedom, for immediately afterwards I'm to enter the connubial state with Miss Betty Mackey of Bronx- ville, New York. The class spirit still burns brightly in the Spurr belfry, however, for who else in the class has on his car license plates the symbol H-1925?

Mailing Address: 15 Hatherley Rd., Brighton, Mass. Occupation: Manufacturing.

Peter Evan Stromberg was born November 8, 1932. I am still with the Commonwealth Clothing Company. However, please note well the above name. There is a half-back in the making -the kind I haven't seen at Harvard for a long time - and I don't think I've missed a Harvard football game for 14 years. Right now he looks like the kind that comes up after getting a hard bang in scrimmage, spits out a mouthful of blood, and just says, "Gimme that goddam ball." From what I've seen that have been called football players at Harvard of late, he's going to be a surprise.

Child (No. 2), Amy Putnam Upjohn, born in Boston, August 10, 1931. No detailed account of four years teaching in Minnesota with the summers spent at the Harvard Summer School seems essential. Founding the Little Gallery at the University may lead to a New Deal in the field of art at the University of Minnesota. Beyond that, and perhaps a few grand slams, vulnerable, I think of nothing remark- able.

I am now chief of stress analysis and chief test pilot for Airplane Development Corporation in Glendale, a subsidiary of the Cord Corporation, building high speed transport airplanes. Some airplane, too - carrying ten people at a speed of two hundred and twenty-five miles per hour! I am still active in the Naval Reserve, holding a commission of lieutenant, junior grade, and I am in command of an aviation division. The class of 1925 is pretty well represented in this district - J. G. Cowling, R. N. Teath, W. W. Porter, E. M. Hall, myself, and two or three others all holding forth around Los Angeles, and occasionally getting together for a 1925 poker session or some such celebration. I shall try to be back for the tenth reunion, but with business as it is - three thousand miles is pretty hard to jump.

JULIUS WADSWORTH

Mailing Address: c/o Department of State, Washington, D.C. Occupation: Foreign Service.

Since being admitted to the Foreign Service my life has been one of work, study, travel, and sports in various countries. I was ap- pointed American vice-consul at La Guaira and Caracas, Venezuela, served as secretary of legation at Bogota, Colombia, and Oslo, Nor- way, and was assigned to Washington and Panama. At present I am with the American consulate general in Shanghai, China. I was married to Cleome Carroll at my home in Middletown, Connecticut, on October 20, 1934. During the trip back to the States I amused myself on the two-week train trip across Manchuria and Siberia by cooking my own food on an alcohol stove and by trying to talk to the natives (there were no English speaking persons on board). Learning languages is my hobby, but I find that every time I learn a new one I seem to forget a previous one. The Service, besides giving an opportunity of serving one's country, offers the chance of being able to improve one's education and outlook on life. Being married to an artist gives a still greater interest to one's observations and is the greatest insurance against boredom.
