TALBOT WEGG
Mailing Address: 1508 44th St. N.W., Washington, D. C. Occupation: Architect.
Several years of involuntary retirement common to architects ceased in June, 1933, thanks to "A Century of Progress." The fruit of an evening's bemused speculation on the frailty of man crystalized into an innocuous and highly profitable gyp show in which an im- probable number of the citizens proved the wisdom of P. T. Barnum's advice - "Never give a sucker an even break." Following the close of Chicago's fair, I turned my back on the world of barkers,

shills, and fan dancers with the conviction that it's a tough way to make a living. For four years I had spent most of my time work- ing to bring about the birth of government participation in low cost housing and slum clearance. This work consisted of designing still-born projects, making surveys for the Illinois Housing Com- mission, and proselyting politicos to support any bills state or federal. Since April, 1934, I have been with the Housing Division of the Public Works Administration as a Regional Coördinator initiating Housing projects in the South and New England. This is more satisfying and (a New Dealer would say) more constructive work than whee- dling dimes from the forgotten men.
JULIAN HACKETT WEISS
Mailing Address: 732 Brisbane Bldg., Buffalo, N. Y. Occupation: Law.
Since the last class report, I have been engaged in the practice of law in Buffalo, and have taken an active part in the work of the Socialist Party. In the fall of 1931, I was the Socialist candidate for District Attorney of Erie County; in 1932, for State Senator; in 1933, for Justice of the Supreme Court in the eighth judicial district of New York; and in 1934, for Associate Judge of the Court of Appeals. For my efforts in this direction, I have achieved the reputation of being: (1) a fool, (2) an impractical idealist, (3) a dangerous radical, all of which does not aid particularly in the law business. I am contemplating changing the scene of my activities in the near future.
JOHN MORSE WELLS

I am with the American Optical Company as secretary, trustee, and executive manager of research. My hobbies are radio and private flying. I hold a commission in the United States Naval Reserve as lieutenant. I now have three children, one son and two daugh- ters.

* EDWARD GOODWIN WESSON [Died September 29, 1932 at Norlina, N. C.]
FREDERICK MELVIN WHEELOCK
Mailing Address: Kingston, N. H. Occupation: Education.
In 1933 I received from Harvard the degree of Ph.D. and the Corey Fellowship for a year's study in Europe. This gave me an oppor- tunity to carry further my investigations in the field of humanistic manuscripts at some of the most important library centers of the Old World. After approximately a month's work at Paris and another at Munich, I settled down for the winter at Rome. In the spring my interest in the classics permitted travel in Sicily and Greece and a flying visit to Crete, Egypt, and Palestine. The return trip took me back through Germany to Holland and England. I hardly need add that particularly in these tense times one of the most interesting and instructive phases of the year's experience was the study of the lives and the attitudes of the common people in the different lands.

Aside from law and politics, my principal interests are radio, broadcasting, and polo.
DONALD BECKLES WILSON
Mailing Address: c/o Boston Transcript, 324 Washington St., Boston, Mass. Occupation: Advertising.
In 1931 and 1932 I took a breather from business and spent ten months going around the world. I was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Scott McLeod at their sheep station, Terrica, in the heart of the sheep country of Queensland, Australia. Mr. McLeod has about 52,000 acres of improved land and about 45,000 sheep. His wool clip is enormous. I flew from Brisbane to Sydney in a rather worn-out Fokker, and spent Christmas of '31 with some friends there. After leaving Sydney, the next stop was India: Colombo, Madras, Calcutta and then off to the Northwest Frontier Province where I was entertained by the First-Eleventh Sikh Regiment as a guest of Lieutenant George Merritt. From there, I went to Delhi, Agra, and Bombay, and back through Europe. On May 19, 1934, I was married to Miss Marion Sherwood Kelley of Toronto, Ontario. If we can get past the wolf at the door we are planning another trip around the world. I highly recommend it to any of you who have not tried it.

Since we last reported our doings and whereabouts, I have been trans- ferred from Chicago to San Francisco, to Tulsa, to Charlotte, to Buffalo, to Washington, to Camden, where I am now managing one of the larger units for Sears, Roebuck & Company. Big outfits think nothing of transferring bachelors hither and yon. In many cases it is safer for the bachelors. If any of you happen to be around Camden, drop in and say "Hello"- there's always a drop around to share.

I am on the staffs of the Waltham and Framingham Hospitals, and the Florence Crittendon Home. I was married, No- vember 8, 1930, to Annette N. Wright of Gwynned, Pennsylvania. Our class launched forth in 1925 upon a calm and generous sea, but soon we were overtaken by the Social Revolution and found ourselves in the gigantic whirlpool of the economic depression. High "bear" waves and deep dark "bull" gullies have become a routine part of our voyage through life, but by now those of us who had faith in our country, and an iron nerve, plus a willingness to work and subject ourselves to the new tide, have no doubt weathered the turmoil. At our Sexennial we sang "Bye Bye Blackbird", which I presume was a farewell to prosperity, but I now challenge my class- mates of ten years standing to come along with me to the reunion in June of 1935 singing "Not much money, oh, but honey, ain't we got fun." I have a growing law practice both general and before the United States Government departments; own my home except taxes; and I have a good wife and three fine boys. (Judson Raw- lings arrived May 30, 1934.) I have published "The Wood Family in America - 1634-1934" and "Malta, Its Historical and International Aspects." I am a master Mason, a member of the Mayflower De- scendants, the Harvard Club of Washington, the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, the Bar of the Court of Appeals of the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Claims, the Inter- state Commerce Commission, and the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia.

HENRY IRVING ZIMMERMAN
Mailing Address: College Manor, East Lansing, Mich. Occupation: Mercantile Business.
Since a third alarm questionnaire grills me, I'm at last forced to confess that in this tenth year of my wide rovings my manly resistance crumbled before a beautiful and clever charmer, yclept Bona Brunn of Forest Hills, Long Island. But I avenged this ignominy by tak- ing away her name (September 13, 1934) and bearing off her person to this outpost of civilization to tend my fire. The advance to Michigan was the result of my vision in anticipating the debacle of the organization with which I was connected - while the same prophetic streak failed to protect my own imperilled investments on the Street. Now I'm a district manager, a kind of country doctor who runs about with a Ford and satchel, patching up sick little shoe stores with a cum laude in German.
