Mailing Address: Randolph Field, Texas. Occupation: Military Service.
I was married in Laredo, Texas, December 4, 1926, to Stella Frances Vodrie of San Antonio. John Joseph, Jr. was born June 12, 1928. After ten years there are but few indications that I shall grow gray in the service of my country, but plenty that I shall become a little bald. Almost all fixed opinions have been carelessly tucked away in rosemary and waxed paper. Mr. Bruce Barton continues to amaze me. With decent fervor I pray for universal peace, mod- erate amounts of Jamaica Rum, and - please, Dear God --- a No- vember scoreboard: Harvard (or Radcliffe) 49; Army 46.

WALTER HARRINGTON KILHAM, JR.
Mailing Address: 229 E. 48th St., New York, N. Y. Occupation: Architecture.
From the Sexennial Report I learn that when last heard from I was starting work on Radio City with the prospect of a five-year job. At the end of three I found myself on the street in front of the last of the skyscrapers with a profound knowledge of how to put one together, but with small chance of applying it. However, since I had taken several thousand photographs and as many feet of film during its construction, I set out to preach what I had practised, changing my comment, and at times the film, to meet the exigencies of the given situation. My weak knees were cured in the New Jersey flats in a lecture preceded by three hymns and the Lord's Prayer. The high point of the lectures came when I read the ac- count of the "Vortrag" by "Professor Kilham" in the Allegemeine Zeitung in Berlin. My European excursion came to an abrupt end with the monetary experiments of Mr. Roosevelt and I returned to the land of opportunity. Low-cost housing was at that time of pri- mary interest. I was given the job of investigating the subject and preparing a scheme for a six-block development in New York City. Like most of the others, nothing has come of it, but it gave me the chance to get on the way once more and I have been going day and night ever since. For over a year the plasterers on various jobs have had the opportunity of expressing their opinions of architects

in general, if not in particular, by letting the trowel slip as I pass beneath their scaffold. It's a good sign. Starting as a one-man office, I have moved six times in this period, ever upwards, till now I find myself in charge of the branch office of Corbett, Harrison & MacMurray on the fifty-second floor of the R.C.A. building. It's sort of a come-down, though, to ride in an elevator after all the ladders I climbed in the good old days. January I finds me with two or three small jobs of my own as well as the office work and if, from all reports, there is no hope for the future, at least for the present I am too busy to worry much about it.
